Walking through engineering she grabbed Eric, dragging him until she came up on Renee and Cordale engaged in working on a console. "We got serious work to do and I need both of you. Follow me", she said and headed to a less populated area of the busy engine room.
Renee looked up from underneath the console, "But Boss, what ab-" She cut off as J'Loni walked away, then gestured to the console ahe and Cor had been working on, "I'll catch up in a moment." She told the Thux, then waved at an Ensign a dozen feet away, Ensign Garber, sir, I need you to lock this console down and tag it out until I or Lieutenant Cordale retur, understood?" She waited until the ensign nodded at the command, then followed the others.
Cordale pulled himself out from under the panel and righted himself. Giving himself a quick dust off, he waited until the handoff was acknowledged and then followed behind Renee, Eric, and J'Loni. "So what's up? What's the job?"

Looking around, "I need from the three of you to go over the ships engine, defenses, and environmental and structural controls. Pull any damaged chips, relays, and optical wiring and replace them with replicated good ones. Hold the ones in question for further scanning. I have a very bad gut feeling about this. I suspect we haven't seen the end of our ships little malfunctions", she said. "I know what I am asking and the job is huge. We can work together on this as a special team or separately. It is up to tou guys as to how we handle this", she said waiting for them to speak amongst themselves.
Cordale didn't even wait to confer with the others first, "If it's what we're whispering it is, I think it's dangerous and foolish for us to split up. We'd be the first party to find out what's going on, and if it IS what it sounds like, they have to know that. I say we stick together." he paused, and brought his glance down to his prosthetic limb for just a whisper of a moment.
"Besides, if something goes wrong, we shouldn't be alone. Someone'll have to pull us out of the fire."
Even while Cor was talking, Renee frowned slightly. What he was daying definitely made sense, quite a bit of it, but... "my only problem with that is we'll be putting all our eggs in one basket. If we're found out, we could all be caught in a single net. If we split into two teams, we won't be solo and if one team gets caught, the other could help out. Or..." She glanced to each of the others, "One of us could break off as a wild card in case the others get caught."
Cor shook his head, "No, cause if one of us is caught, what's to stop them from using the captured engineer as a bargaining chip?" he questioned, but didn't wait for an answer. "Teams work, but I'm still very much against anyone going out there alone."
He remembered the one time he needed help the most, and it was right there with him. Without them, he'd be dead. Instead, he's just an amputee. Alive, though.
"Sir, that's why the wild card needs to be inconspicuous. I don't have a commisioned rank like Lieutenant Junior Grade," She gestured to Cor and Eric, then to J'Loni, "Or Lieutenant Commander. I only have the NON commissioned rank of Chief Petty Officer, and everyone knows that when there's a conspiracy, it's always the officers. Enlisted personnel and even NCOs like me are only there to take orders and execute them, not think too much on our own."
"I still say it's dangerous. Just because you don't have pips doesn't mean you won't have a bullseye." Cordale added, then turned to J'Loni, "It's your call in the end, but you know where I stand."
"I think the boss is right about the idea of double checking the systems. If you take out shields, weapons, and propulsion, we would be defenseless. But we have to consider other possibilities as well", Eric stated.
"I agree with Eric in his thought. I also agree with sticking together while doing this. I would think that Eric's point is valid and we should start with the most important systems first", she said. "Do you all agree?, she asked.
Renee nodded slowly, "Double check shields, engines and weapons, definitely." Something niggled at the back of her brain, "Subsidiary feeder systems to them as well. Sometimes you can take down a primary system through a secondary, like the bussard sabotage problem I had the other day.. I'll compile a list of those systems as well."
"Yes, Renee I agree on that point. Those systems should get a once over. This must be kept quiet as I dont know who we can trust outside of our department apart from Mok'Tor, Nyx Valentine, our marine second in command and of course the XO and the Commodore. I can't speak for anyone else as I don't know them personally or have met them. I do however trust the science department as Christine has been speaking with their chief, but outside of that...no", she said.
"I agree with you as well Renee. We need to look at the secondary systems. I will take Thomas at a later time and go through the computer core systems as well since a few chips were found in the primary core controls. The computer core is a target as well", Eric added.
J'Loni looked at her officers, "Well any more thoughts before we begin our huge mission?", she said.
"No, ma'am." Renee replied, glancing at the others, "And I guess we should all get some rest, then it's going to get busy."
"In that case we will meet in the morning in my office armed with phasers. Lone Wolf will accompany us it was approved by the Cmdr. Bartlett", she said as she ushered them to go their ways.
