Location: Brig
Timeline: June 15, 2399 @ 0015
The battle was over. And for the Organization, Cause, and the Cardassians it had clearly been lost. Activity on the ship had returned to its usual level of quiet considering what time of day it was. And Lo'Mah and Kasella, who just a day before were in total command of the ship now sat in its brig as traitors.
Lo'Mah sat opposite the hallway, where he could see nothing. He was defeated by what he had overheard when the other two were placed in the cell. He joined the Organization to slaughter the Cardassians. Not to join hands with them. How would the Organization recover from this blunder? The people they hated the most, who were the reason for their resistance to Starfleet, got them to do their dirty work and nobody even recognized it.
Kasella, formerly Commander Bowman, was brought into the brig by security after questioning. The alterations had worn off. She was now clearly a Cardassian, no longer dressed in a Starfleet uniform. She was placed across from Lo'Mah. She looked at him with a smug smile and chuckled to herself as he reacted angrily to the revelation of who she was.
"If it makes you feel any better, you were truly one of the best people in this process that we could have asked for." Kasella said. "So devoted to your cause. My reports to the Cardassian Bureau of Intelligence certainly note the drive and loyalty to the Organization that you and half the Marine squadron showed."
"I did not renounce the uniform I wore to be in bed with an honourless Cardassian!" Lo'Mah said. "Had I known, I'd have killed you where you stood! Remember that you spoonhead ghuy'Cha!"
"But you did." Kasella replied. "You did jump right in the moment you people thought you had a chance to weaken the Federation. You were all just... What's the human expression... Chomping at the bit? Anything for a victory. It's hard to imagine what the Organization will do now that you have collaborated in a Cardassian plot to murder senior officers. So for now, this spoonhead ghuy'Cha basically runs you." she said with a laugh. "But in some ways, it also is a good thing for you."
"What on Qo'onos would make you say that?" Lo'Mah asked.
"Because although the alliances still stand, the Federation isn't going to just lay down and die so long as Cardassia is believed to have a foothold here. They are going to be a lot more aggressive. That is if they're smart. We accomplished in 3 days what it took the Organization 5 years to do. And do you know how, Lo'Mah? Because we saw this as a strategic game whereas the Organization just did little minor acts of petty terrorism. Your leadership wouldn't have dared consider killing an entire senior staff. Because as much as you talk a good game about the Federation's weakness, you still have that Federation training embedded in you. Except you of course. It was a thing of beauty how you killed that Bajoran and the kid that tried to jump in front of her. I just couldn't tell you that while I was busy having to pretend I gave a damn about Starfleet regulations."
"Cardassia will never rule this quadrant." Lo'Mah said. "And we will beat Cardassia back into the pathetic little shell of itself it was after the war. You see, Com... Gul Kasella, one day the Federation will see it our way. One day our voice will be too loud to simply be brushed off. And where we failed, another will succeed."
"And what about you?" Kasella asked. "Do you think you'll have a place in this new aggressive Federation? You're a Klingon. The Organization values humans first. All you are is just glorified hired thugs that hide the reality of what the Organization really is... A group of humans sick of losing. It's quite pathetic, really. They care only about Earth. The rest of the Federation as far as they're concerned is of no value unless some of the member worlds agree to fall in line. It would take the Vulcans to tell you all to go hell and the Federation would collapse. And who but the Cardassian Union would be more than delighted to step into your place?"
"What did they offer you? To weaken us?" Lo'Mah asked.
"Commander of New Earth, Prefect of Dalacar. A pity we'll have to wait so long. The Dalacari would make excellent slaves in a new Cardassian Union out here. A race of fix-it people serving a higher purpose than being Federation lackeys." Kasella said. "But if nothing else, I do expect I will make Legate."
Lo'Mah let out a laugh. "You expect to be promoted and commanding the 10th Order from a jail cell? Kasella, you are truly a fool."
"Do you really want to continue down this road of doubting how capable the Cardassian military is? It seems you've already lost once to us." she said, making a point even Lo'Mah couldn't ignore.
"You beat us today, Kasella." Lo'Mah said. "But you mark my words. You filthy spoonheads will be driven from this quadrant. If not by us, by people you really will wish you hadn't have crossed. If we're lucky, maybe even the Borg."
Kasella simply laughed. "Lo'Mah... You would have made a hell of a First Officer. It's a pity you're going to rot away the rest of your life. However long that is." she said before simply turning her back on him.
