Location: The Prancing Mythological Creature

It was a slow day at The PMC, just about everyone was at the Lo'mah hearing. Jack was leaning against the bar, reading a news paper of all thing while Roger was practicing trick throws and pours with a few water filled liquor bottles.

Temperance stepped into the lounge and paused, taking a moment to look around. This wasn't the first time she had entered the lounge, but in truth it was the first time she had truly looked around. It was an impressive sight, clearly something that someone had put a lot of time and effort into, but that was secondary. Her eyes swept across the bar, taking in the single figure currently leaning against the bar. Now THAT was what held her interest for the time being.

Walking up to the bar, she sank down on one of the stools next to him and crossed her legs. "Commander Jonathan Wade?" she queried, rather pointlessly because she already knew that it was him. She held out her hand and smiled. "Lieutenant Temperance Zachary, newly assigned Strat Ops."

Jack looks over his news paper at the women, "Huh". He folded up the paper and goes to shake her hand. "Just call me Jack, I haven't been a proper rank for a long long time. So my dear, how do you know me?"

"All good strat ops officers should know likely allies when it comes to the quest for information, and you, Sir, are really quite the double whammy. Intelligence background, and bar tender to boot." Temp paused and smiled. "I doubt there is much of anything that goes on on this ship that you aren't privy to in one way or another."

"Well I say... an intelligence background, me? That's a new one. Hell my Star Fleet carrier ended in the academy so I really don't know where you got that from. But uh, if someone like me where too have some kinda legendary run in SFI, maybe there would be a reason his dossier only lists two years of academy training?" He smiles "So, can I get you something to drink or eat?"

Temperance laughed softly, "Yes indeed, probably a very good reason. I'll take a sparkling water with a twist of lime, thank you." She paused for a few moments and looked around again. "So how long have you been aboard the Wellington?" she finally asked.

Jack pours a glass of sparkling water with some very clear ice, and twists a bit of lime into the drink. He gives it a stir and hands it off to her. "We got here just before the space battle. Hell of a bit of timing, don't you think?"

"Impeccable timing," Temp replied with a smirk. "But then, I truly wouldn't have expected anything less." She raised the glass, taking a slow sip. "Perfect," she said with a smile. "It must be..." she paused momentarily, searching for the right expression to use. "It must be a very interesting career choice, you know, being a bar tender. At the heart of the off duty ramblings of basically every individual on the ship..."

"Oh I hear all the gossip. But right now everyone is a bit focused on the trial, which is just a waist of time if you ask me. The man is as guilty as sin and needs to be locked away."

"Perhaps... I must be honest, I still haven't really managed to get a solid grasp of what happened, seems a great many of the records are still sealed until the legal proceedings are over." She took another slow sip of her drink, the twist of lemon was about perfectly proportioned. "So what made you decide to tend bar, you know, after your career with Starfleet ended before it began." The very corner of her mouth twitched again as she spoke.

"Oh I didn't get right into bar tending. Flew freight for a while, captained a cruise ship, ran an old school comic book store. Just kinda wondered around for a bit. Then came here, as a kinda moral booster contractor"

Temperance nodded slowly, again sipping at her water. Reading between the lines he had had a rather impressive background, and she had no doubt that if he were to ever drop his guard, he would have some rather impressive tales to tell. "And now you tend bar and make people happy... fair enough... I guess in light of recent events that's going to be kind of important. Morale on the ship has likely taken a pretty big hit."

Jack nodded "Yeah, the entire thing really killed the mood. But that's why this ship was chosen, after this entire fiasco I am one hundred percent sure that every person on this ship deserves a moral boost, no exceptions" He smiled wide.

“I guess added benefit of being one of the new transfers, we are somewhat exempt from the misery that was everything had happened. But I imagine there will be a great many people who will benefit from your expertise.” She replied easily. “The launch of the new lounge was definitely a good way to start, at least from what I saw.”

"Well, the lounge was actually more Roger's idea. I was just going to upgrade the replicators, but he thought a brand new theme would really give the crew something to bond around"

"It's very... well... interesting. Not at all what one would expect on a star ship, that's for certain. Very unusual indeed." Temperance replied thoughtfully.

"Well it does keep them guessing." He smirks. "Now is there anything else I can get you my lady?"

Temp smiled warmly and shook her head. "No, I really should be getting back to work anyway. Thank you, for the water, and for the chat, it has been an absolute pleasure."

Jack nods "You've very welcome, I look forward to your return." he takes the glass steps away to clean up.
