She was sitting in the holosuite on the starbase when she got a call from the commanding officer. Reluctantly getting up and leaving the silence of the woods, she headed for the commanders office with Bear sitting on her shoulder as usual.

“Ah Captain, I have good news for you along with bad. How do you want it? Good first or bad first?, he said, laughing.

Looking at the commander, she said, “Bad first then the good!”. Sitting down since the bad news could be about Mark, she listened to him intently.

“Well the bad news is, you are going to have to accept a rank reduction to Lieutenant in order to get your spot. The good news is, they have a spot on the Sovereign Class, USS Wellington for an Assistant Chief Engineer. Now I know that you want to get back into engineering and this is the only spot they have open right now so...is it acceptable to you?” he asked her.

Her heart sank when he told her about the rank reduction but it was quickly made bearable when he said that a spot had opened up on a Sovereign Class ship of all things. She loved them and knew every square inch of the Sovereign class, so this would be easy, at least that is what she thought. Somethings are never easy until you get a good look at them.

“T’Ponga, I know you weren’t expecting a rank reduction but sometimes it goes with the territory. In any event, there is a civilian transport leaving for the Gobion system which is just beyond the Reh’nar Cluster, where you can transfer to the USS Wellington. I have three seats reserved for you and your twins. Get moving woman and that is an order!”, he said laughing.

Not wasting time she flew from his office back to her quarters and prepared for the trip to the Wellington. With two kids and four pets, it was not an easy thing to get them ready in a short amount of time that she had. So...hurrying, she got the pets into their traveling carriers, and both twins dressed and their belongings packed and transported to the civilian transport, and just in time too, as it was scheduled to depart in about 10 minutes.

Well once aboard, she finally sighed a relief sigh and knew it would be a while before they reached the Wellington so she took a nap with the children. Two thirds of the trip had passed and there was a commotion in one of the cargo holds and she go up to check and see if the pets were ok. Well...apparently the cage that held the two wolves had jarred open and both were loose in the bay area. This made all kinds of problems and once she arrived, both wolves ran to her side and sat at her feet quietly.” How did you two get loose? Come on now back into your carriers and you will stay there till we get to the Wellington”, she said as she lead both wolves back to their carriers and this time double locked the door.; Shaking her head, she apologized to the cargo crew and went back to their seats. By now both kids were awake and anxious to run around but they would have to wait until they arrived on the Wellington.

Two hours later the transport came alongside the Wellington and they were transported over to her new ship. Once she was assigned quarters, she took the kids and the pets to the holodeck to let them stretch their legs, wings and so on before she reported in to Captain Bartlett.
