Time for Rest and Relaxation

Location: New Earth - Bayside Bar

New Earth - Bayside Bar

The scene was nothing short of idyllic. Sparkling water and golden sand under the warm glow of the sun, palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, and no shortage of brightly coloured drinks and delicious food. Who ever managed to pull it all together in such a short amount of time had done well, especially given how many of the crew had decided to take advantage of some true down time.

Michelle looked out at the bar. There had been nothing of this sort created before... It was a new and quite welcome addition. After all, it was about a wormhole's jump and a long trip back to real beaches. "I may not want to leave." Michelle said.

"It's a little too bright for my tastes, Captain." said a voice behind Michelle. It was one of the newer additions to the Wellington crew: Koh Ottasu. His black fur struck an odd contrast with the more relaxed garb the fighter pilot wore, though the patch of white over his left eye struck an even greater difference.

"Though, once the dazzle wears off, it's actually a nice view. Nice to see a beach without pulling Sobi four over it." he paused, "Mach. Sorry. Mach is how you measure it." he chuckled, "Mind if I join in?"

"By all means." Michelle added, motioning him to join.

"Mr Bunny!" Siobahn exclaimed with a smile as she approached the gathering. "You know, I really didn't figure you for the beach goin' type." She grinned as she glanced around, acknowledging the Captain's presence before turning back to the beach. "It really is a stunnin' view, holodeck programs just never quite do justice to the real thing."

"But if you tweak them enough, they can do pretty decently." Renee sashayed up, bandeau bikini and tilted sarong the same color of blonde as her hair, briefly linking arms with Siobahn for an arm-to-arm hug before releasing her, "I'll make sure to get some good recordings of this one... Maybe even set up a shipwide-available program?"

"Oh my stars, this is wonderful. I would love this program on the Wellington as well. It is so beautiful", Janice said as she walked up to the group. She was not quite used to this kind of relaxation on a starship.

Roger popped out of the water, coming in from a long morning swim. Adorned in blue and white swim trunks he looked like the model of male perfection, not that he had a choice in the matter, his genes permanently keeping him at his top physical shape. He hadn't actually realized anyone else had shown up too the beach already, just really needing to get some fresh air after a long time up in the void of space. Blinking at everyone he walked up closer, going for his towel to dry off. "Good morning everyone, or did I swim into the afternoon again." he asked genuinely.

Renee's eyes were drawn to him and a slightly brighter smile came across her face as she took a quick glance and she sidled her way over to him and grabbed his arm through hers and dragged him closer to the rest of the gathered, "Ohhh, it's afternoon, silly, umm..." She turned her attention inward briefly, "Noon-fourteen local time." Her focus returned, "And well... I think it's time to umm... Were we going to do something for lunch?" It was more a question to everyone while she was on Roger's arm.

Roger blinked and looked at Renee. "Um, are you alright? Have you lost your balance Ms. Salchin" Roger did not appreciate being touched like that with out his consent.

Scrunching her face at him, Renee laughed, patted his arm, then let go, "I'm good, don't worry, just... Getting hungry and well, I don't know who's good with a grill around here!"

"That might be Cordale. I saw him gathering supplies for what I assume is a cookout." came the sweet voice of the resident daughter of Ts'usu as she walked from the other side of the small building the crew had gathered in front of. The rabbitess herself was dressed in a simple green piece of one-piece swimwear, with a thin length of cloth tied around her waist. More for accent than actual functionality. The gentle breeze caught some strands of her blonde hair and tossed them to the sides, but the bulk of her hairdo remained untouched.

"Good morning everyone." she stated with a soft smile, her glance lingering on everyone for a moment before sliding to the next. When she got to Roger she stopped and gave a nod, "How's the water?" she paused with that same soft smile, "Cordale was on his way here, I believe. I imagine he must have seen the crowd."

Janice shimmied out of her clothes, "Ah the sun feels hreat on the skin", she said. Her body, gracefully proportioned to her height, sported a blue and white bikini which accented her best qualities, "I am headed for the water. Anyone care to join me for a swim?", she said playfully, and headed for the water.

"Almost as good as Earth." Michelle said. "Which is great considering we're a bit of a ways from the real thing."

Also in the water, and to a point still in the water, were the twin forms of Rostra Tang. Each form sporting a slim one-piece outfit, the Dalacari was content to just remain in the water for now, and stayed relatively close to shore out around the 'waist-high' level.

"Not a water fan?" Michelle asked with a bit of a smirk to Rostra

"Dalacari have a specific density around 1.2, which is greater then that of standard water." one of the Rostra twins said, before her twin continued, "Or, in other words, we're negative buoyancy."

She motioned to a few parts of her swim wear, "Now, to counter that, Dalacari swimwear has air pockets that adjust our buoyancy so that, well, we can float. Just, still a bit jarring sometimes." she admitted. "But as always the..."

"... old saying holds true, the water is fine."

Grabbing a tall, brightly coloured drink from a passing waiter, Shaille held it up and grinned. "Here's to ending the mission with our heads still attached! Thank the Gods for shore leave!" she finished with a laugh.

Janice was playing for a spell when she decided to take a long swim. It was good to feel the water, even if it was a holo projection. It was something she enjoyed doing and she did it quite well. She didn't see the other swimmer and ran right into her, "What the hell", Janice sputtered.

"Oh! I am so sorry, I didn't mean to, Hi mu name is T'Kyra Madison. I am so sorry for bumping into you like this", she said.

"You're forgiven. I am Janice Soran, a pleasure to swim with you. Shall we continue our swim?", she said.

"Yes, let's...", and both left together, swimming together.

As Michelle walked around aimlessly, taking everything in, she observed Roger... "Enjoying yourself?" she asked him

Ensign Corinne Wiseman tugged at the collar of her uniform nervously as she walked across the beach, closing in the small distance between the transport shuttle that was waiting for them and the familiar faces of the crew.

The last thing she wanted was to be the bearer of bad news, but Commodore Myers had specifically pulled her aside and tasked her with the job, so she wasn't exactly in a position to decline. Instead she scanned the crowd for the Commanding Officer, making a beeline for Michelle and swallowing hard.

"Excuse me Captain, I'm sorry, Commodore Myers has issued an immediate recall for the crew. There is a shuttle standing by to take everyone back to the ship." Corinne was clearly visibly upset at having to be the bearer of bad news. "Starfleet wants us to depart immediately."

Michelle nodded. "Thank you Ensign," she replied.

Renee sighed deeply and cursed under her breath at the abruptness of the party’s end, “Well, there goes the cake surprise..”

Unable to help but overhear the conversation, Shaille groaned outwardly, tossing back the last of her drink quickly before setting her glass down on the table next to her. "Well, I guess that's it, shoreleave is over for the next six months! Lead the way Ensign!"
