Bugs go Bye Bye

Mission: https://wellington.pegasusfleet.site/index.php/sim/missions/id/5
Location: Main Engineering

Siobahn slipped the vials into her pocket before she glanced around sickbay. Satisfied no one else was paying any attention at all, she slipped out into the corridor and headed for the turbolift. In the back of her mind she had an idea that just may be help to locate the Shalti, but she needed help, and the only person she could think of was Felicie.

As she walked into Main Engineering, Siobahn stopped and looked around, speaking to the first engineering officer she saw. "I'm looking for Ensign Rivero?" she asked, trying to keep her voice subdued.

Without speaking, the engineer stared mutely for a moment before pointing toward a console on the other side of the room where her 'friend' was working, head down, staring intently at the console in front of her.

With a quick 'thanks' Siobahn moved quickly across the room, her hand resting over her pocket, feeling the vials burning within. As she stepped in next to Felicie, she drew in a quick, sharp breath. "Felicie, I need your help."

Stopping short, Felicie looked up at the medical officer who was formerly her friend, raising one eyebrow slightly. "What do you want?" she demanded quietly. "And more importantly what the hell are you doing out of sickbay? Don't you know we're at yellow alert?"

Reaching into her pocket, Siobahn grabbed the vials and set them on the console in front of Felicie. "I extracted these from patients. I'm almost completely certain that they are fractures from Shalti shells. If you scan them, you might be able to use the results to find a way to locate them on the sensors."

Felicie looked up at Siobahn, her eyes widening as she picked up one of the vials. "Are you sure these are Shalti?" she asked softly, her voice becoming equally hushed.

Crouching down next to the console to try and avoid people staring at them, she nodded slightly. "The first vial was a sample taken from one of the first Icarus crew members who came over for emergency surgery. The second vial is a schrapnel taken from Lieutenant King from Science. He never went to the Icarus. He was killed aboard our ship. I'm not saying it will work, but it might give you something, right?"

Felicie stopped talking, grabbing the vials and examining them carefully before pocketing them as she slipped out of her seat. "Sit here, keep your head down and don't talk to anyone." she cautioned before she walked away silently.

Barely ten minutes later Felicie returned, sitting on the edge of the seat next to Siobahn. She handed the two vials back to Siobahn before flipping open the tricorder. "And you're sure both of taken from different locations?" she asked feeding the data remotely into the console in front of her.

Siobahn nodded earnestly. "I swear on my career," she said softly. "They are two very disctinct samples."

Felicie pointed to the two images side by side on the console in front of them. "Well they are identical," Felicie said quietly. "So they are most likely fragments from what ever caused their death. Lets say we assume that that is purely Shalti..." her fingers flew across the console as she reprogrammed it. "Mother of Mercy... Siobahn... we found them!"

Siobahn stared blankly at the image that was turning on the console. "I don't understant what it is," she said, her voice tinged with confusion.

"This is the ship, and those red dots are every instance on the ship where there is something resembling the biological composition of the fragments you gave me. Those red dots are the Shalti." Felicie said with a grin.

Siobahn stared at the diagram for a long moment before she offered a small smile. "Well, at least it helped... I have to get back, I'm not entirely sure I can trust Lieutenant Soran yet and I don't want to get into any more trouble. God knows, I'm in enough of that already. Felicie, can you take care of them?" she asked, hopefully.

With a nod, Felicie grinned. "Leave it to me, I'll take care of everything," she said with a nod. "It's okay."

Impulsively, Siobahn leaned in and hugged her friend quickly. "Thanks Fee... I owe you big time!"

Felicie shook her head quickly. "Consider it as we're good," she said with an easy smile. "Drinks after all this is over are on me. Now get out of here, I think Lieutenant Cordale is coming back!"

Without waiting for a second chance, Siobahn spun on her heel and walked out quickly, heading back toward the turbolift so she could return to medical.

Felicie stared at the results on the screen in front of her. She was absolutely certain that all four bright red dots were Shalti, and that there were multiple Wellington crew members within close proximity of the aliens on the ship, and chances are, the crew members at risk had no idea what they were facing.

Accessing the transporter controls, Felicie stared at them for a long moment. It would absolutely be easy enough to use the transporters to lock onto the precise biological signatures of the Shalti and beam them into space. Worst case scenario, if they didn't die from exposure then they could use the ships phasers to shoot them and be done with it.

Hesitating for just a moment, Felicie keyed in override codes to reroute weapons control to main engineering, bringing weapons online before switching back to the transporter systems. Certain she had a conclusive and specific biological lock, she activated the transporters, beaming the aliens into space off the port bow.

With her fingers flying across the console in front of her, Felicie switched back to weapons control, her fingers hesitating over the phaser controls as she contemplated for a fraction of a second before firing. At near point blank range the phaser blast was enough to basically eviscerate the Shalti, leaving little to no trace that they had ever been there at all.

Leaning back in her seat, she reached up, tapping her commbadge lightly. "Engineering to Security. You're welcome."
