Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Lounge

The lounge was surprisingly quiet given that the crew was essentially officially on shore leave so there was no difficulty at all in finding a table to sit a, so Shaille chose a booth along the side with a view port looking out over the stars beyond. It was quiet. Peaceful. Something that Shaille had decided she was enjoying very much, though that tranquility would likely be shattered into all kinds of oblivion the moment Renee finished up what ever it was she was working on in Engineering and found her way to the lounge, but she had no idea how long that was going to be, so until then she was on her own.

T'Krya was still wandering around the flight deck checking the fighters before she headed for a drink in the lounge. For her it was kinda lonely with much of the pilots and CAG off ship in that she didn't make friends that fast. Maybe now would be a good time to actually make friends.

Entering the lounge she got her drink and saw one of the crew and headed over, "Hey....do you mind if I join you?", T'Krya said. She figured it might be a good way to try and meet the crew. "It's kinda quiet with all my pilots on leave. I haven't left yet cause well....I have no idea what to do all alone down there", she said.

Shaille laughed, motioning to the seat across from her. "Be my guest," she said easily. "I think I'm going down tomorrow, just waiting to see what happens. I think I've seen you about the ship you. I'm Shaille, Security."

Taking the seat offered T'Krya sat down."Thanks, I'm T'Krya Flight Leader. I am not sure about going down, don't have a thing to wear especially to the beach. I haven't been to a beach, that is a real beach in ages", she said laughing.

Shaille laughed as she picked up her coffee. "I've been assured that the shopping down there is VERY worthwhile," she offered with a grin. "Everything is two for one." Shaille shook her head quickly. "I'm just waiting for someone else so I'll probably go down tomorrow. But I believe it's really worthwhile. Though, you know, if you need a swimsuit, my friend Renee is supposed to be joining me soon, she's like the most amazing personal shopper in the universe, I'm sure she'll help you out!"

"Oh I have the swim suit, as a matter of fact I have a few that.....well....um shall we say eye catching?", T'Krya said giggling sipping her drink. "But I wouldn't mind shopping for a few things though", she added laughing. "I wonder if there will be other humanoids besides the Dalacari planet side? Wonder if they are cute too", T'Krya added chuckling.

The doors opened to admit the blonde engineer and her head tracked across the lounge and locked onto Shaille as if they were homing radars seeking a target. Her eyes flashed and she began to dodge the couple of tables between, "Shaille," She hissed, "Hi!" She said cheerily to T'Kyra, then refocused again, "I know you were out there with Koh! Two people got into that Blink fighter before it left the hanger, I've got cameras recording EVERYTHING! And then you actually BLINKED? Oh. My. God! You have to tell me EVERYTHING about it!" Her voice modulated from anger to outright jealousy, "What did it feel like? What did it look like? Omigosh, it had to be SO exciting!"

"Uhhhh..." Shaille paused, looking up at Renee. "Hi to you too?" she replied, a slightly confused tone to her voice. "Are you like Section 31 or something?" she asked with a shake of her head, sliding across in the booth so Renee could take a seat with the. "So that's the important work that couldn't wait? You had to check your spy cameras?" There was a smile on Shaille's face as she spoke which showed she wasn't upset in any way, more just confused as to why this was even being raised as an issue.

Turning toward T'Kyra, Shaille smiled apologetically. "Sorry, you'll have to forgive my friend, she has no sense of tact."

"I do too!" Renee countered Shaille to T'Kyra even as she slipped into the booth next to Shaille, "And there were a couple things I had to do, checking that data was just one of them! I've been studying as much of that Blink fighter as I can, so I watch how everything moves on it, how it lifts off, pressure points, engine temps, literally everything I can so I can try to make Federation and Ts'usugi tech cooperate better."

"I see..." Shaille said quietly. "Remind me to never make an enemy of you Renee," she said fondly. "You're a great friend, but I think you'd be downright scary as an enemy."

"Nope!" Renee disagreed that she'd be a scary enemy, "But you're trying to distract me! Spill everything you know about Blinking!"

T'Krya was listenimg to the banter back and forth like a tennis match between both girls. "Whoa...whoa both of you two", she said laughing, " You know you two look like a tennis match talking....back and forth, back and forth!", laughing still. "Ok so you actually blinked?", T'Krya asked chuckling.

Shaille laughed and picked up her sparkling water, taking a sip. "Yes, I have actually blinked," she replied, almost hesitantly. "It was... well... it was different. The feeling kind of encompasses your entire body and it's almost like having an out of body experience, and then it all ends and you're back in space, but not where you started."

"Thats cool....like an out of body experience. Interesting, I don't think I have ever had one of those, at least if I did I don't remember it. Something like floating I guess..."T'Krya asked.

"There's no way to explain it," Shaille said quietly, staring at the wedge of lime in her glass. "It was unique. Anyway, I'm sure you all have better things to do than listen to me rabbit on about blinking. Where do you think we'll be heading after shore leave on the Dalacari world?" she asked in an effort to change the subject.

"Nuh uh." Renee said, shaking her head, "Ohh, nice try. An out of body experience? But what about the physics of it? Acceleration push? Or did the inertial compensators take care of the whole thing? Did you see a reading on how fast it was? I think it's about point eight seven light speed, but maybe someone in the cockpit would be able to tell me more about it. What sort of power source? Did it have any sort of stress on it? Sensors work right after the blink, or did they take a few moments to re-engage? Tell, tell!"

T'Krya laughed so hard, listening to Renee needle Shaille, she was in tears! "Oh my god.....Now I know what you meant Shaille. Renee you are wound up on the blink fighter!", she said still laughing. "I want to know about shopping stores. I need new clothes, actually I want a MAN!", T'Krya said giggling.

"Sorry, I can't help on any count," Shaille said, casting a sly grin. "I already promised Koh I'd let him take me shopping, and, well, I already have a man. But, you know, I'm sure Renee would love to go shopping with you, and she has impeccable taste in men," she finished with a grin at Renee.

"Well, maybe not men, but clothes, yes!" Renee had been successfully distracted now, "I'm actually going to go down to the surface with Siobahn a bit later, after all, you know how the Dalacari are, two for one, basically." She placed a hand on her chest, "Siobahn is really only a couple inches shorter than me, but I prefer my dresses a bit shorter anyways, so those'll fit her just as well and anyways she and I have the same waist size, makes for a PERFECT shopping partner!" She glanced back and forth, "And of course, sunbathing. It's just SO much better to use a real sun rather than try to program the holodeck sun to provide right type and amount of actual radiation to get the perfect suntan... I keep thinking I get it right, but it just never is!"

T'Krya again was laughing hard, and her eyes were tearing, "Oh so I struck out there but I hit a homerun with Renee. Oh my gosh that is so funny. So you and Siobhan can interchange clothing? That is cheaper though when you both buy clothes. And the fact that in this case.....yes the two for one would work well in your favors", T'Krya said giggling.

Shaille shook her head quickly. "Lucky or Siobahn that is because seriously, when it comes to clothing, Renee has a chronic addiction! I mean, I've SEEN her quarters. She has enough clothing in her quarters to clothe an entire planet!"

"Oh my word", T'Krya said trying to stop laughing long enough to finish her drink. It was hard cause the banter back and forth and maybe her drink was making it worse, who knew but she was in a word having fun! Fun in a long time talking with other girls, and it made her feel good about herself. Now she could open up, laugh and have fun instead of being closed off and alone.

"Hey you think we could find a couple of guys to go to the beach with us and have some good oldfashioned fun?", T'Krya chided.

"Finding guys is easy." Renee waved that away like it was no big deal, because to her it wasn't. "Finding the really good looking guys? That can be a bit tougher... Have to figure out what they're gonna wanna see on you, some of them prefer the 'barely there' swimsuits, some prefer something far more modest. I'm going to figure out tonight what I'm going to wear tomorrow when I go down in the morning, but my afternoon is already waaaay overbooked with Siobahn."

Shaille laughed and held up one hand. "No point looking at me... Koh's a Dalacari citizen or something, something about some accord or treaty? So he has planned basically every minute of our shore leave..." her voice trailed off as she stared at the glass she was turning in her other hand. "And truth be told, this is the first time I think I've EVER looked forward to actually taking shore leave!" she finished with a wry smile.

"Really Renee, your going to be that busy?", T'Krya asked.

"You have NO idea." Renee said seriously, "Of course, if I can get a look at some of the drones or something while we're there, I'm gonna try to see what I can see. But shopping is a very serious thing and Siobahn and I have a lot of that to do!"

Shaille laughed and shook her head before she leaned toward Renee, touching her hand lightly on Renee's arm. "Remind me before you go down, I want you to keep an eye out for something for me. There's something special I want but I may not have a chance to look for it myself," she said with a smile.

"Good then maybe we all could go shopping together. I need some 'expert' help in choosing some bathing suits. I never seem to find the perfect ones for me", T'Krya chuckled finishing her drink.

"Absolutely chickie chickie!" Renee said to both of them using a single comment, "But yes, bathing suits CAN be difficult to find the right ones... You wouldn't believe how long it took me to build my collection and I only have about fifteen that I'd be willing to go out in public in right now."

"Renee, your kidding....I only have three and they all look horrible. I never could find the right ones to fit my body shape", T'Krya said looking at her hips. "Gods....I need to diet....I'm bloody fat!", she laughed. Now becoming self concious of how she looked.

"Kidding?" Renee gave T'Kyra a deadpan look, "I would never kid about anything as serious as bathing suits. Or shoes, or dresses, or anything fashion-related. I have about ten more I'm not willing to put on right now along with the couple dozen I had to leave back at my old station because I didn't figure I'd have enough space when I got my quarters here!" She rolled her eyes, "I know, I should try to steal some of the deckspace from my neighbor's quarters through some judicious reconfiguration of bulkhead placement, because I just don't have enough room in my own quarters to put in a proper sized closet."

Shaille nearly choked on her drink. "I've SEEN your quarters!" she laughed. "What part of your closet is not 'proper sized'? I mean, your closet is already bigger than the first set of quarters I had on this ship!"

"Oh lord....what have I started!", T'Krya said laughing.

Finishing her drink, Shaille set her empty glass on the table and stood up. "It's okay, it's time for me to depart anyway. I still have about a million things I can do before we get to Dalacar, so if I want to enjoy my shore leave I need to hop to it," she said with a wink, grabbing her empty glass and returning it to the bar before heading back out into the corridor.

"And you can swing by my quarters at some point if you wanna see if anything I have'll fit you, but..." Renee eyed T'Kyra over briefly, "Not sure... We'd have to check. And just make sure I'm off duty or at least give me a yell so I can come up with some sortof excuse for the Boss as to why I have to leave, I'm sure I can come up with something!" Renee bounced to her feet, "But, I gotta das\h! Gimme a yell!" And she was gone as well.
