Dalacar - Resolution
Posted on Thu Sep 5th, 2019 @ 6:39am by Commander Rostra Tang & Captain Michelle Bartlett & Lieutenant Commander Shaille Levine
Mission:
Shore Leave
Location: Visitor's Station, Dalacar
It was a time long coming, long dread, and even longer in the delay. On the station orbiting Dalacar, at the hub of commerce and casual, a 'lone' Dalacari figure and her attendant drone stood with the assembled senior crew of the Wellington. The figure was none other than Administrator Neema Goto, while her attendant was decidedly similar to any other military grade drone on the station.
"I want to wish you all the best of luck in all your future travels, and remind you that the doors of Dalacar are always open to you. Just, let the Ts'usugi know too." she joked with a smirk.
"We've topped off your reserves with high-energy plasma from our reactor systems, transported some replicator matter to your cargo holds to replenish your..."
"... internal supplies, and sent over a few new atmospheric scrubber units. I just hope they're compatible with your systems. Ours are double-filtered. Should..."
"... come as no surprise." she giggled again, then went back to a serious note. "Again, thank you for your visit and your time. I hope you found Dalacar enjoyable."
T'Kyra nodded, "Yes it was fascinating and I enjoyed every minute of it", she said smiling.
While it was disappointing that such a glorious shore leave would be ending, Siobahn was also silently relieved that she would be returning to her own quarters, her bed, her belongings, all her personal space. "Thank you," she offered to Administrator Goto with a genuine smile. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity your people have offered us, it was incredible to be on the receiving end of so much hospitality and so much knowledge. Please relay my sincerest thanks and gratitude to the medical facility we visited as well, their kindness will not be forgotten."
Remaining close to Koh as they offered their farewells, Shaille bowed her head slightly as a sign of thanks. "Thank you for your hospitality," she said softly.
Koh simply gave a nod as well. "Always a pleasant visit." he kept it simple. Valeria was no stranger to Dalacari hospitality either. Though, Cordale had managed, at the last moment before transport up to the station, to get caught in the tourist trap of the gift shop. He was wearing a hat with Dalacari Style Ears on it, and had purchased a T-Shirt that said "I went to visit Dalacari and TE-44 Gamma recommended I buy this shirt". He also had a mug shaped like some beach idol tiki god.... despite the sheer absence of such icons on the planet.
Something was then brought back to Neema's attention, and she was handed a form of computer chip from her attendant. "Oh, before I forget, this is a gift from one of our planetside security administrators. Said it was for a Miss Levine." she paused, "He said it was 'Everything', and that you'd..."
"... understand what he meant." she handed the Dalacari data chip over with hardly a second thought.
T'Kyra looked at Shirley, then back to the Administrator. She was flabbergasted that Shirley had actually benefited from the visit but then again, she knew how to talk with people, "Nice going Miss Levine", she said softly.
There was a moment of sheer confusion on Shaille's face as she stepped forward, taking the chip and holding it in her hand before recognition dawned. "Admistrator Goto, please relay my sicerest gratitude to your security administration and your government. Your hospitality will never be forgotten," she said with a genuine smile as her hand wrapped around the data chip. "Thank you."
"Of course. The hospitality and safety of our guests is paramount." Goto replied with a pair of smiles. Whatever it was, she was just pleased that such high-profile guests enjoyed themselves.
(tags and more stuff, blah blah)
"I look forward to another opportunity to visit, Administrator. We all had quite a fantastic time aboard." Michelle replied. "Unfortunately... Our superiors are calling us back. Some new thing to investigate, no doubt."
"There's always something new." Goto said with a giggle, "I'm more worried about the day there isn't. Safe travels to you all, in Dia's graces."
"In Dia's graces." Michelle said with a nod. "Until next time."
With that, the two parties from across the gulf of space parted ways. The Wellington was well stocked, her plasma reserves refreshed and her replicator mass reserves fully stocked. All was set for her to undertake her next mission wherever Dia's graces might take her. Administrator Goto watched the flagship turn and leave Dalacari aerospace, escorted to a safe distance by a small swarm of aerospace fighter drones. In the spirit of playful competition the drones kept pace with the Wellington for as long as they could. Surprisingly longer than expected, but it truly wasn't a contest. Once the Wellington reached full impulse, the drone fighters were left in the ion trail of the starship's proverbial dust. Then the massive craft went into warp, and it was gone.
"System." Goto requested to the empty room, and a single tone indicated that something was now listening. "Provide an assessment and economic report for the duration of the Federation officer's stay."
:: Calcula... Task complete. Report routed to personal storage. ::
A smirk crossed across both her faces, "Visha, wake." she called, and that's when her table started to float. The intricate tracery of lines along its surface slowly started to part, started to move...
Started to unfold.
Where once was a tabletop, there was soon an aerodrone. Smaller, personal, a defender. A bodyguard. Hidden in plain sight. It bobbed and flitted in place, smaller than a standard drone but more angular. More of a sleek design. Intimidating, to make up for the smaller size.
"Hosting the officers of the Federation was a worthwhile venture. They saw our technology, they enjoyed our hospitality. This will go a long way towards granting us..."
"... admission into the Federation. Can you imagine it?" she asked the drone flittering before her, "The knowledge and sciences of an entire arm of the galaxy!" Goto exclaimed, thrilled at the prospect. "And we can help them! We can remove risk, we can remove loss." she stood, and made her way back to the view window, the drone following close behind and even resting its nosetip against her shoulder.
"The Ts'usugi will patrol the stars. Our drones will see to their every need... They will welcome us."
:: Lapse in data reserves detected. Mark thirty six ninety four delta, sequence six. ::
"A hole?" Goto inquired to the system. Her smirk vanished, as she turned back towards her desk. "Contact the security administrators for the visitor's plaza. Schedule a full security meeting in twenty minutes."
A hole wasn't good. Heads would roll.... proverbially speaking of course.
