Nobody Here But Us Students

Mission:
Recovery
Location: Planetside
Gervais punched in a final set of codes on the transporter console. "We can be beamed out almost right away if needed, I just have to tap a commbadge." he said, dressed like he was about to go exploring. "Ready?"
Hailey nodded, in her camouflage uniform, seemingly armed as if going after an Earthen Grizzly Bear, rifle held in both hands but pointed down towards the ground. "I'm sure they'll notice a transporter signature, so it's a backup plan." She'd changed after getting through with the planetary comm net, because while their cover would hold from a distance, any sort of visit would discover the truth, so be ready. "Who's staying for the comm watch, or were we going to take that as it goes and leave the shuttle empty?"
Rostra held up a hand. "Well, either I can stay, since I'm certain a Dalacari would draw attention, or I can be the most distant exchange student on record. Or, in a pinch, I could try to be TWO..."
"... different but identical exchange students by, you know... wearing a different top? Maybe... messing my hair up halfway? Just, oh man that'd be unpleasant. I don't..."
"... think I could hold that up for too long. Nevermind, I think I can keep an eye on the shuttle. Just in case there's trouble."
Hailey nodded, though it would mean that she'd be the one responsible for everyone, "On the plus side, you could fly the ship and operate the transporter at the same time." She quirked a smile, "Might I suggest, ma'am, that if someone comes to investigate, take the shuttle out and send us a message? Our cover will probably be blown if they come by and see you here, as you said, so we likely wouldn't respond."
"If we leave the shuttle unattended there could be trouble. Hell, there's going to be trouble either way, at least if someone's here they can move the shuttle or..."
"... something, but yeah I can manage that. I'll send a wide band signal if there's trouble, this way they can't follow the arc of the transmission. Then, maybe I don't..."
"... know, park in a lake or something." she said with a pair of smirks. "Always did like fish. Though, later. I think you're already dressed the part, so I'll keep tabs from here."
Shaille glanced between Rostra and Hailey. "Commander, not that I'm questioning your abilities, but do you want us to assign someone to stay with you?" she asked, concern evident in her voice. Not just concern about her senior officer, but concern about their own cover being blown. "I'd suggest at the very least continuous passive sensor sweeps. It shouldn't trigger anything anywhere and should alert you early enough to make sure you can get out of here before anyone gets close enough."
To that, Rostra gave a thankful pair of nods, "I'd appreciate not being here on my lonesome. Thank you." the pair glanced around, "So, ummm, any volunteers?"
"I can stay with the Commander if needed." Gervais said. "I'm a better pilot than I am a fighter anyway." he added.
"Likewise, cause I'm terrible in a fight." she giggled, "I appreciate you staying Mister... Gervais was it?" she tried to recall from her briefing. Which she prepared. Personally.
"I hope you like card games, cause we have a few on Dalacar that are perfect for passing time." she joked.
"I'm always up for that." Andrew replied. "And yes.. Gervais is correct, ma'am. Don't worry... I'm sure it won't get too dull."
Hailey nodded, "Right, then the rest of us should get going. We're on a bit of a schedule at the moment and a downed pilot we need to find." She glanced over at Cor, the Marines, Shaille and well... That was about it, wasn't it? "We ready to go?"
Cordale gave a nod, a curious gesture for him to make that involved less of a nodding motion, and more of a bobbing his head slightly up and down motion. His biology didn't seem built to simply just... nod.
"Ready and willin'. Source, I haven't pretended to be a student since Academy." the Thux chuckled.
"I'll maintain low level scans of your locations and relay any information back to the ship." Gervais replied before turning to Shaille. "Anything you tell Paul, make sure it doesn't involve me sitting here playing cards." he added with a smirk.
"Don't worry, I got you. We couldn't have pulled this off without you," Shaille responded with a wink before taking a deep breath and slinging the rifle over her shoulder. She opened the hatch, waiting until it fully unfolded before she stepped out. As soon as her feet touched the grassed ground she unslung the rifle and powered it up, ready, just in case.
Gervais saw a message come in at the comms panel. "Hmm. That's not good. Wellington reports there's been an issue with their sensors. They have no long range capability at the moment. Zero ETA."
"Let's hope that's just coincidence," Shaille replied quietly. "Come on Hailey, I suggest we get the hell out of here. I have a very bad feeling about this."
