No News Is Good News. Or Bad News.

Mission:
Lower Decks
Location: Sick Bay
Paul headed down to Sickbay, completely anxious about Andrew's mission. He was supposed to be here by now. That boy was never going to hear the end of it. If he was even still around.
Ugh. Breathe, Paul he thought to himself. This isn't the first of these missions and you know it wont be the last.
He walked in, hoping to get something to help him sleep. Or just maybe someone to hit him with a phaser until he was unconscious. Either would do, really.
Siobahn had been sitting on an empty bio bed cross legged, reading from a text book open on her lap, though she was barely able to read any of the words. A single finger traced along line after line of text while sightless eyes followed.
The sound of the doors parting startled her, causing her to look up, an expression of concern forming on her face as she recognised the familiar face of her friend. "Paul!" she exclaimed, sliding off the bio bed, leaving the book on the bed. "Is everything okay? Are you hurt? What's wrong?"
"Can't sleep." Paul said. "I haven't heard anything yet and he expected to be back by now."
Siobahn nodded slightly. She was starting to worry about the fate of the away teams as well, especially since gossip had indicated that fighters had been launched and there had been weapons fire on the surface. She patted to the bio bed she had previously been occupying, motioning for him to take a seat. "I'll replicate you a drink. Tea? Coffee? Chocolate? Something stronger?"
"Tea and chocolate would be great." Paul replied. "I suppose you haven't heard anything down here eh?"
Replicating tea and chocolate cake for both of them, Siobahn carried the tray back to the bio beds and set it down before taking a seat across from him, pulling herself up onto the bio bed and breaking off a small piece of her chocolate cake. "Not since the red alert," she finally said quietly. "There was open fire on the surface, that's all I know. I don't know if anyone was hurt in the process." She sighed softly. "I'm sure he's fine," she added. "I'm sure he's with the rest of the away team and perfectly safe."
"Fire? Did the same guys who got the Captain try for round 2?" Paul asked, now a little worried.
"I don't know," Siobahn frowned. "One of the nurses came back from a break and said that it was our fighters that opened fire on the planet. Why would they do that if our people were down there?" she murmured softly. "I don't think the Captain approved it, the Captain wasn't even on the bridge." She bit her bottom lip momentarily. "Prel is in the brig. From what Kaylee said it looked like someone slugged him pretty good."
"God I hope he's on his way back." Paul said. "I'll bring him back to life to kill him if he gets hurt." he smirked. "And wait... Prel? That ass kisser? What the hell did he do to deserve that? Andrew said something happened this morning but..."
"I don't know, when I went to the Brig everyone was very tight lipped. No one would speak to me at all but they were all fair peeved with him," Siobahn replied with a shrug. "I hope they'll be back soon, I just want to know everyone is okay," she sighed softly. "I'm worried."
"Same." Paul replied. "And it looks like its too quiet a night to distract yourself. Unless there's a few sprained ankles from weird holodeck adventures or something."
Siobahn nodded slightly. "It's eerily quiet around here, I'm not sure how to pass the time. I tried reading, but nothing has worked.' She offered a chagrined smile. "I had to block the replicator from dispensing chocolate. I ate a whole block and wanted more."
"Yeah it's way too quiet in here. Just hope it stays that way." Paul said. "Prel huh? Andrew told me he was apparently a total dick this morning in the briefing. Managed to insult the entire chain of command."
Siobahn smirked. "We should check and see if Corrine can get security footage of the briefing and the incident on the bridge," she said with a laugh. "With a big bowl of popcorn it might take our minds off things."
"Ooohhh hell yeah!" Paul replied. "Hmmm think we can message her? As long as she doesnt get in too much trouble. But I mean what else is there to do? I'm just waiting for Andrew to get back so I can nag him at this point."
"We'll meet on holodeck two in twenty minutes. Siobhan replied. "You get the popcorn, I'll bring the entertainment,"
"Sounds good to me!" Paul said. He was looking forward to a live action view of all this. He never did like that tantrum throwing Trill...
