"Mark, stop worrying, I am not going to get hurt silly. Dad pulled in a favor and got me transfered to the Wellington because T'Lisha is in trouble. You know he only wants what is best for her", she said apologetically.
"T'Lar, after the last time she got into trouble Charlie was there to help her. Wasn't he there in this case?", her husband said to her.
" Yes, he was there but remember, if she is starting out in the early stages of the Ponn Far, he wouldn't know how to handle it. It just so happens that is the reason why she got into trouble this time, as her emotions got the best of her", she said.
"Lt. Bishara, we are about to land on the Wellington, sir", said her pilot.
"Thank you Ensign", she said, turning back to the face of her husband on the screen, "Mark we are about to land. I have already made the arangements for your transfer to join me hete. They should be finalized on a few weeks and soon we will be together again. Until then my husband, Live Long and Proper", she said.
"Live Long and Prosper, my wife. Until then...", and the screen went black.
She got up and went to the front of the shuttle as they approached the Wellington. The sight of the Wellington was inspiring and very sleek in design. The difference between the Kentucky and the Wellington was that the Kentucky had four extra decks of flight hangers for the fighters and also she was an Akira class refit to boot. The Wellington, was a Sovereign but more aerodynamic in design. T’Lar was amazed at her size and wondered about the fighter arrangements on the deck. Sitting back down she waited for the shuttle to land before she got her things and took Shadow from his special carrying crate. Shadow was a gift from a friend on the Kentucky who thought it would be appropriate for her to have him. He was a one year old Lynx who was abandoned on a planet where they were previously and was brought aboard as a cub. He grew up under T’Lar’s care and has become a constant companion to her. He purred as she attached the leash to his collar, “Shadow, new home, you must behave ok?”, she said looking to him. Shadow’s head bobbed up in down in understanding and waited patiently by her side. Once the ramp had extended itself she stepped out. Looking around she walked up the nearest Lieutenant and said, “ Permission to come aboard?”, she said.
Startled the young officer said, “Um...Yes sir, of course, permission granted, welcome aboard. Can I show you to your quarters?” she said.
“No I can find my way but I wonder if you can have something done for me...”, she said looking at the Lieutenant.
“I can try sir. What is it?”, she said.
“I was wondering if it was possible to have any outgoing comm from my sister, T’Lisha “Hawkeye” Bishara routed to my console. I am expecting her to comm me and I don’t want to spoil the surprise”, she said to the officer.
“I suppose so sir...Yes I can have that arranged”, she said giggling and smiling.
“Thank you Lieutenant you have been most helpful”, she said turning around and heading for her new quarters with Shadow walking dutifully at her side.
===============Two Hours Later==================
Once in her quarters she arranged her things and fixed a place for Shadow and his crate. His crate was designed not only as a shipping container but also to serve as his house complete with a kitty litter pan which was self cleaning, which was great for her. His food was simple and she programmed replicator for his diet. She was arranging her clothing in her bedroom when the computer chirped. “Incoming communique from T’Lisha Bishara”, it stated. ‘Ah good this is going to be quite interesting to see how she reacts on this call for sisterly help’, she said to herself. Laughing she positioned the computer so that it shown her sitting with her back to the wall before she opened it up. “T’Lar here...Oh hi T’Lisha...”, she said, smiling. ‘Good timing’, she thought and spoke to her sister. Appraentely T’Lisha went and did one of her stupid numbers again and did not think about the possibility of being in the first stages of the dreaded Ponn Farr and it made another mess out of things. Their father didn’t want any problems so he did pull strings to get T’Lar there to help keep her sister from bringing any dishonor to the Bishara name. Once she had finished talking to her sister, she sat back and laughed. T’Lisha really did it again. She did handle the Ponn Farr on the Pathfinder which was great but it was after that, was the problem. She got into hock with her other fighter pilots on a few items that she really didn’t need to. Now she had to find a way to smooth out the mess she had gotten herself into this time and from what she heard it wouldn’t be easy. First she wanted to wander about the ship and see the sights before she saw her sister. In addition, she was there on a dual assignment, tactical and flight. Dad had seen that the Wellington needed a tactical officer so he used that as the basis for getting her there. It was good to be needed in that area as she had studied it with great interest and became quite good as well. Making sure that Shadow was secure in their quarters, she headed out to explore the ship.
===============Three Hours Later===================
Walking down the corridor, she stopped in front of T’Lisha’s door. Trying not to smile she thought of the face of her sister when she opened the door. Hitting the chime, she waited.
“Enter!”, came the reply.
Walking into the room she waited for her sister to appear. When she didn’t she looked for her and found her in the bedroom going through the closet.
“Damn it, I can’t find the bloody dress…where the hell is it”, she hollered.
“Jesus you haven’t changed in over five years. Still yelling while you are looking for your clothes?”, T’Lar said.
Turning around at the voice, T’Lisha stopped dead...face whitening...knees buckling...catching herself...”Oh My God!! T’Lar What...how...why...when...where...Oh my GOD!!!!”, was all she could say and she jumped into her sisters arms. Giving her a huge hug and kiss she finally regained her composure and said, “What the hell are you doing here and how and why and well you know the rest. Sit tell me all about it”, she said bubbling with excitement.
“Well...I got in this morning and had asked them to pipe any coms from you to my quarters as I didn't want the surprise to be blown. Dad decided that it was time for me to be with you as the reports from the Pathfinder made their way to him and he didn’t want any dishonor to befall the family name and you. Besides the Wellington needed someone at tactical and well he pulled strings to get me here. So when you commed me, I kept my location secrete until now. How are you and Balboa getting along?” she said. Before T’Lisha could answer, Balboa...hearing his name…came flying around the corner and landed on T’Lar’s shoulder and not T’Lisha’s.
“You had to mention his name right? Well see for your self sister”, she said laughing as Balboa was giving T’Lar gentle beak kisses. T’Lar was laughing...petting Balboa at the same time as he was kissing her. She hadn’t seen him in more than five years and it was good to see him again.
“Well well Balboa how the hell are you too? I see you are doing fine and still as crazy as ever. Here go to your master now...”, she said motioning for him to fly to T’Lisha’s shoulder. He stayed put and refused to leave. “Well suit yourself then stay with me but you will have to leave soon as I have to report for duty on the bridge. After that I have to report to Lawson and the Squadron Commander and following that to the Flight Leader. Will you be around later to grab a bite to eat later?”, she said to her sister.
“Sure sis, I would love that but I must warn you, Lawson is the CAG and Cooper is the Squadron Leader, and just be careful sis. I don’t know how the two of them will take to it being that there are two of us on board”, she added.
“T’Lisha, don’t worry, I am not you and I have a very different approach to meeting my superiors. I did take a rank deduction to be here and I still know how to hold my tongue and my attitude. I have no intention of making a lousy first impression. I think in the end my professionalism will win out”, she said, getting up to leave. Balboa finally left her shoulder and disappeared into the room as she walked to the door. “I will pick you up later once I am done on the bridge ok?”, she said hugging T’Lisha yet again.
“Ok sis, until later”, she said, returning the hug and watched her sister exit her quarters.
