Location: Dalacari Outpost
Timeline: June 17, 2399 @ 0900

"Open a secure channel to New Earth Station. Admiral Elizabeth Marquette." he said to the console at the outpost. A pleasant sounding computer voice acknowledged the request. Within a few minutes, Marquette was on screen in front of Ensign Gervais. He stood at attention as though she was in his presence.

"Ma'am." Gervais said. "Ensign Andrew Gervais reporting on behalf of Commodore Myers."

"Good god, Ensign. At ease before you throw out your back." Marquette said. "The Commodore informed me he assigned you to be his adjutant. And I don't bite. That's on the 20th of each month. You've got a few days." she said with a smirk.

"Ma'am, the Commodore had some information for you that you may wish to hear. The arrest warrant has been carried out for the operative that blew up our senior staff. But the Commodore and the Mission Advisor you brought are concerned about its authenticity. He wanted to know if you had a chance to look it over before signing it."

Marquette raised an eyebrow at the Ensign. "I'm sorry, Ensign. I'm not following. Before I signed what?"

"The warrant, ma'am." Gervais said. "For Lieutenant Mordin's arrest."

"Wait... Back up. 9 senior officers are dead, and within 2 days we've figured out who did it?" Marquette asked. "If there was an arrest warrant, I've never seen it. And the Intel Detachment on New Earth would have forwarded anything along to the Wellington's Intel and Strategic Operations teams to give it a go over. This wouldn't have been a 48 hour resolution. No warrant was ever presented to me."

"With all due respect, ma'am, is it possible your adjutant filed it on your behalf?" Gervais asked.

"Doubtful. He doesn't have security clearance and the arresting officer should be the Acting Chief of Security on board the Wellington." Marquette said. "Ensign, I know you're kind of knew at this, so I need you to please excuse me for what I'm about to say..."

"Of course, ma'am."

"I need you to relay this message to Commodore Myers.... He needs to get a hold of Commander Bowman. You can tell him that Admiral Marquette has spoken with you, and she wants to know WHAT THE SUGAR FROSTED FUCK IS GOING ON OUT THERE!! I want to know who the hell produced my signature on an arrest warrant on an investigation that I'm just a little too busy looking after 800 ships to sign. I want to know why the hell between three Intelligence Agencies, nobody has figured out who did this yet, and we need to start thinking just who in the hell would have an advantage over these talks. And if Bowman can't come up with an answer for me by 1500 hours, then I will personally fly on the next transport out of here and take direct command of her ship myself!" Marquette replied. She then took a breath. "All right. I'm calm now."

"There is one operating theory, Admiral." Gervais said.

"What's that?" Marquette asked.

"The Assistant Chief Engineer suggests there was a broader conspiracy beyond the Organization to disrupt the talks. The Commodore didn't say how or why to me, but it seems to be the main theory. And that someone on board is helping."

"We have a traitor in our midst?" Marquette asked. "On the lead ship assigned to that mission? I just had a very angry Ts'usugi government official threatening to blow us all out of the quadrant if this wasn't resolved, and that the only reason he hadn't is because the Shipmaster they sent is generally a man of peace. Let's not disappoint them. Inform Commodore Myers and Commander Bowman I want some answers. Otherwise, I will fly there and take direct command. And if it comes to that, nobody's going to be happy. And I assure you there will be FEET. IN. ASSES for this!"

"Yes, ma'am." Gervais replied. "Will there be anything else?"

"No. Your efforts and assistance to Commodore Myers have been noted by him and Commander Tang. I will be in contact with the Commodore to provide further instructions. I suspect at least some of it has to do with the CO at Starbase 231 we arrested for sabotaging at least 8 ships in the last week with faulty equipment. Yours included."

"Ma'am?" Gervais asked.

"Privileged information. I can't disclose anything more than that." Marquette said. It turned out that Commander Vargas had been an Organization operative and in hopes of getting a reduced sentence, he squealed on several others, but had not yet released the name of a Marine who was behind it or where the Marine was posted. Nevertheless, if the Marine was as dumb as Vargas then it probably wouldn't be long before they found out who it was. "Good luck, Mr. Gervais. We will be in touch. Marquette out." she said as the Starfleet emblem appeared on the screen.

"Gervais to Myers. Commodore, I have some uhhhh.. orders... for you from Admiral Marquette."

"Myers here... What are the orders, Ensign?" Jason asked.

"To find out what the uhhhh... sugar frosted fuck is going on before she puts feet in asses." Gervais said. "Her words, not mine sir."
