J'Loni had just gotten her meal and looked around the mess hall and saw Nyx, walking over to her, "May I join you?", she asker her new friend.

Nyx smiled and nodded, "Please, My Lady." She gestured to the chair with a piece of her pizza, this one with ham and pineapple and she couldn't figure out why it was called Hawaiian. "How are things going in your side of the ship?"

"Not good I am afraid", she said, as she sadly shook her head.

"I am truly sorry to hear that.' Nyx said softly, "I have had nothing change as of yet on mine own orders, My Lady Outside, of course, to keep looking to make sure no one is altering the ship, but that goes without saying."

"Not so in engineering. We have found more tampered pieces and so far managed to replace most of them. It seems almost as if who ever it is, is bent on disabling the ship. I will kill the persons responsible for this dishonor, for only a coward would do something like this", she growled. Picking up a piece of her meat she bit off a piece and chewed it absent mindedly. She was disturbed by a nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach, enough to make her stop chewing.

"I agree entirely. A fight is honorable, this sort of..." Nyx tried to find a standard word that wouldn't come to mind, but gave up, "This isn't. Yesterday, I had to arrest Milady Valeria Mordin of the Science department. She's charged with the deaths of those on the shuttle and some of the other sabotages on board. She's being held in the brig, but I believe that the Lord Major and the Lady Captain mean to try and execute her."

"What!?!?!", J"Loni said, nearly choking. "You mean to tell me they arrested her on what charge? Salchin found one chip in her replicator that she had no idea it was there. She would not implicate herself. Now your...Lord?...you call him...is a known traitor of the Empire and that was established by the High Council in the last communication from Qu'noS. You should also know that I will avenge my houses honor. A long time ago, his House, and two others made an attempt on my house to overthrow and steal my lands and wealth. It was then I swore a blood oath on his House and life. I have claimed the rite of revenge, and both Cmdr. Bartlett and the Commadore know this. Our assistant CTO, Lt. Mok'Tor has also sworn the same oath. Nyx be careful you are not used as a pawn in this deadly game. Bowman is not to be trusted. She is not who she says she is. Of that I am sure. It will be only a matter of time before all hands are played out and this comes to a terrible end. I fear for your life and honor!", she said.

"My Lady" Nyx exclaimed in horror, "I owe no fealty to Lord Major Lo'Mah, however he is my superior officer and it is traditional of my people to refer to such in that manner. As for his trustworthiness, the way the Lord Major handled Milady Valeria's arrest was less than proper. However, he is still my legal superior officer, My Lady and the order, while not optimal, was still legal with apparent evidence. No harm came to Milady and none will unless she is tried and found guilty, which I don't think will happen." She dropped her pizza onto the plate, "It would be dishonorable of me to abandon my duties whenever I felt I felt like it, especially since it would also prevent me from being in a position where I can identify and act against those illegal orders. Please, My Lady, have more faith in me than that."

"Nyx, I have more faith in you than you think. You are a very logical and decisive person. Don't you think it is a bit odd that Lo'Mah would be so quick in deploying the marines so soon afyer the accident? It was only a matter of moments and he was not on the bridge to see it. So logically how would he know? Think Nyx...it would raise red flags in minds of a few people in the security department quickly. Do not fully trust him. We know him to be a traitor but as a Federation officer leaves something of a question to be answered. I know of your honor and trust for your superior but, is he truly worthy of it? Ask yourself that question before being quick to justify his actions before your own. Don't become a pawn in his game, a game he cannot win", she said, looking at her friend with a serious face.

"My Lady, I was the one who ordered the Marines into action." Nyx blushed, "I was watching the stars and I saw the explosion. I reacted by securing the critical areas of the ship. And it is not a matter of trust. One does not have to trust a superior officer."

"Good, I am proud of you for moving so fast. The aCTO will be working along side your people with his security teams as well. Just be on your guard concerning Lo' Mah. Do not trust him. Please Nyx be careful of yourself. Do not let him know he is being shadowed. He must not be alerted to that. Nyx, can I trust you to tell me if he does anything suspicious or out of the norm?", she asked her.

"As long as I can do so without alerting him, My Lady." She thought for a moment, "I may have to be wary around the troops as well, My Lady, I don't know if he has any that are loyal straight to him. I haven't had more than a couple days to get to know them."

"Very well Nyx, my honored friend. Take great care and if he does do anything worth telling me please do it quietly. He is considered a traitor of the Empire. Honor and Loyalty until Death takes us", she said, and gave her the traditional Klingon salute, and left the now empty mess hall.

"Honor is everything." Nyx whispered in the Tialan traditional battle farewell, pushing the rest of her pizza away from her, any semblance of appetite having vanished. There was work to do and she now needed to find some bad eggs in the Marines, but how to do it? Rooting out potential traitors, and that was what this was at the moment regardless, was always difficult to do.
