Attack On Engineering!

It had finally came. The order that Nyx had expected from Major Lo'Mah as soon as he'd pronounced the engineers as mutineers. It was time for Nyx and her squad of handpicked Marines, handpicked by the Major, that was, to directly assault main engineering and 'deal with' all of the 'traitorous elements.' They had all been confirmed to be there, burning the 'midnight oil' according to her sergeant, whatever that meant.

Nyx had gathered the unit at the armory to kit out with phaser pistols and rifle as well as beaching charges to get through the doors, just as she would have done in any assault, even going so far as to grab a rifle herself. Before they left the barracks, she brought them together, "We all know what we need to do. If anyone here has any problems whatsoever about what we have been ordered to do," She raised her hand, "Raise your hand now and I will find someone else who will take your place." As she looked around, she wasn't surprised to see no one raise their hand, which made her smile and nod at the fact she was indeed telling the truth. "Good, move out."

In an orderly fashion, the six privates, the corporal and the sergeant as well as Nyx herself made their way to the doors to main engineering where the two sentries standing guard outside it moved away from the doors and joined the others. Nyx stood behind them all and began to issue one of her final orders, "Front team, set rifles to stun. If they choose not to resist, or only resist lightly, we can take them alive. Rear team, set rifles to kill. If they resist us successfully, then all bets are off."

She reached to the console on the side, "Lady Commander Mo'Bri, this is First Lieutenant Valentine outside your doors to main engineering. I know you and your entire team are inside and I am calling upon you to surrender without resistance." She sighed dramatically, "I understand that you believe that you're doing the right thing, but I have orders right here directing me to quell the mutiny that you are accused of heading up."

J'Loni's com just beeped waking her up, "Boss!!!!...get in here...their gonna blow the door's!!!", Mark yelled. Not bellowing...which was her first instinct...she pulled William from the bed, "Woman, what the fu...", he started to say...dragging him next to both sleeping wolves, who heard the noises and half stood, as she said, "Computer site to site transport, two and two animals, emergency transport to main engineering just inside the doors, energize now!", and they shimmered for a split second and reappeared in engineering. Neither were in uniform. Both wolves positioned themselves infront of the doors instinctively, William pulled his phaser rifle, J'Loni stood defiantly in front of the doors. "The only ones who I WILL allow entry into this secured area is Cmdr. Bartlett and Commodore Meyers. Anyone else...It will be over MY DEAD BODY!!!!", she bellowed!

"Get ready," Nyx said softly, then sighed dramatically, "Lady Commander, out of respect for your position and traditions, I am going to give you this last chance to surrender. We have breaching charges and if you care to turn on your surveillance feed, you will see I have enough personnel to succeed in storming engineering." Her thumb hit the selectir switch to automatic and stun under the cover of her voice.

"As I said, OVER MY DEAD BODY!", and she shut the com. She could feel the tension from her staff especially her husband. ~~~Woman! Have you lost your mind?~~~", he projected. ~~~Have patience my husband, they can not get into engineering even if they breach the doors~~~", she projected back. Calmly she spoke, "Computer, execute Alpha 9785Pi, launch double level 10 forcefields on all engineering access points including all doors and jefferies tube access points." she said. "Command received and executed. Order can be only rescinded by voice and visual code recognition of Lt. Cmdr. J'Loni Mo'Bri Assistant Chief Engineering Officer USS Wellington", said the computer. "Let them try!", she said smiling.

Nyx smirked at the comment, then glanced up to where she knew the schematics at least said there was one of the cameras. With a smile, she winked at the camera, then took the safety off of her rifle and opened fire. The first second and a half sent six shots that she edged the rifle through three of the rear Marines before there was ANY notice or reaction at all. Stroking the trigger, two more shots on automatic hit the last one with a rifle set on kill and finally the front Marines began to react. They started to turn, but they were far too late to do much good with all of their attention having been focused on the front. The Tialan had brought her rifle up to gaze over the sights and within another four seconds had put the last four Marines on the floor, stunned. Only one shot had come close to her, having passed a foot away over her right shoulder.

She brought the muzzled of the rifle up and rested it against her shoulder, then picked her way over the prone forms and stepped up to the door and knocked on it with the back of a knuckle, "My Lady? Would you mind opening the door, please?"

Still smilling, "Computer, recind Alpha9785 Pi, voice and identification print, bring down forcefied and engineering main door lock outs only. All others are to remain active till otherwise ordered", she said. "Command accepted and understoodm Main engineering door lockout disengaged", came the reply.

As the doors opened, bodies all over, legs, arms, faces of sheer shock and surprise on the faces those who were down. J'Loni and William, both in semi-opague pajamas, William with a phaser rifle in his hands, "What the fuck?", he said, as J'Loni stared to laugh. "Nyx, my friend, well done", she said. Wiliiam's face was priceless in its appearance. "Woman, you never cease to amaze me. How did you know?", he asked. "I trust Nyx with my life. That is how. Honor and Loyalty my friend", she said and saluted her.

"Loyalty and Honor." Nyx tossed off an informal salute, "You didn't think I would actually let them blow the doors, My Lady, My Lord?" She grinned, "I do feel bad, however, they never stood a chance, it was like shooting pickles in a barrel.." She considered for a moment, "That IS the saying, isn't it?"

Smiling, " Yes Nyx, it is the saying. I never doubted that you would never allow it to happen. However, what and more to the point how are you going to explain this? Where are you going to do with all of them?", she asked Nyx.

"I was hoping you might have an answer for that one, My Lady.." Nyx admitted, "I just wanted to eliminate the threat of those loyal to the Lord Major. Oh, and My Lady? I need you to hit me. Hard."

J'Loni swung, with no warning, ...knocking her swiftly off her feet...a good three feet from where she stood. "My apologies, bit you did say, hit you", she said...walking to where she lay and helped her up. "I have a place for them. They will be sleeping like babies till then. Remember the closet?", she said smiling?

Nyx had already mostly regained her feet by the time J'Loni had gotten to her, "Not bad, will make a good part of the story I will tell the Lord Major if he asks. The dastardly ambush outside engineering, my swords stolen from me," She gestures for J'Loni to take them, one from each side, not liking this fact, "And stripped of my guns." She pulled them out and handed them to William, "A complete disaster where I was outnumbered."

"I will guard your swords with my life my trusted friend. That you can depend on as is my word of a Klingon warrior!", she said. "Now, if they ask, which I doubt, but if they do, how would I explain it? I will figure it out if it comes to that. Now Nyx, be off with you while I transport them to where the other sleeping beauty is. Honor and Loyalty", she said saluting her.

"You defended engineering against an assault on your doors." Nyx said, with a longing glance at the swords that had rarely ever left her side for any reason, for the last fifteen years, "Don't sheathe them unless they have drawn blood. It is our way."

"Do not worry my friend, they shall remain the way they are, unsheathed. That is my word as a Klingon warrior", she said. "Now go...please...it will be about 5 minutes, as I transport them and erase the logs...please Nyx...go!", she said urgently.

Nyx gave a short perfunctory bow and jogged off, already filling in the details on the story she would tell her boss, should she see him.

"Computer, lockon bodies combadges and transport all to closet in antimatter storage pod room deck 22. Energize!", and they were gone in a few seconds, emptying the scene and all its evidence. Then she returned to engineering, "Computer, return original lockouts to stated instructions Alpha 9785Pi coded for voice and visual recognition for engineering personnel upon entering correct Codes given." "Commands re-engaged." Looking at her people, well, back to work, William and both of you two wolves, back to quarters. Computer, site to site 2 people and 2 animals back to engineers quarters. Energize!", and to they shimmered out of existence.
