Location: Science - Astrometrics
Timeline: Current - June 16, 2399 - Afternoon
ON:
Christine has headed to her quarters after the heated exchange between Walker and herself. She was an obnoxious, rude, self centered, childish bitch! Christine wanted the tour of the lab more than anything and she wasn't going to let the altercation get the nest of her as she put on a casual outfit. Putting her hair up in a French braid, which showed jer equally spaced spots from her temples down her neck to her shoulders, she put on her purple blouse and moderately tight slacks and flats. Putting on the barest of bare makeup and a single teardrop earring, she took a deep breath and headed for Astrometrics.
Walker was still fuming over the run-in with Lieutenant Zen an hour ago. Who did this newcomer insolent bitch think she was? Did she think she could just come in and take something that she, Karen Walker, had been after for over ten years? Damned if that was going to happen! And just why the hell had she been volunteered to give this little twit a tour of HER domain? What was Charles thinking when he did this? Or maybe she should be wondering what was he thinking WITH? Just then, her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a door opening. Turning, she immediately saw Lieutenant Zen.
"Well..." she said, looking at her chronometer - surprised that Zen was exactly on time, "...at least it appears that some of you deck apes can tell time."
"Well this deck ape as you put it is here and you did say one hour toots!", Christine said with a sarcastic smirk.
"And exactly to what type of deck ape are you referring to", Christine said shortly.
"Deck apes? Oh, that's what we educated officers call members of the engineering crew," Walker answered. "You know - trained monkeys. Deck apes."
Christine was now getting belligerent and heated, " I am certainly not a trained monkey!", she stated. Her tone showed Marina's temper was now evident. "And for your information you ignorant bitch, engineering officers were never or will they be educated trained monkeys!", she said loudly.
"Oh really?" Walker said, her tone indicating that she didn't actually believe it. "You could have fooled me. From everything I've seen, engineers just run around doing whatever their boss tells them to do. We scientists get to actually think for ourselves."
"So do we!", she shot back. "Who the hell found, decoded, and figured out that your chip in your emitter system was bypassed by...a Cardassian command code?", she barked! "Me! And if I hadn't found it, who would? You? I think not...Besides Walker it seems to me you are a bit possessive. If I didn't know better I would say you're jealous!" she sneered.
"Me? Jealous? Of who? YOU?" Walker asked with an incredulous look. "Don't make me laugh. Ha. Ha. Ha. Why would I ever be jealous of you? I mean, look at me..." she said, indicating her body. "What could you possibly have that I don't?"
"Darling, besides an over sized pair of volley balls, you don't have evenly spaced beautiful spots from head to your ankles", as Christine said and was making her point visibly, by unbuttoning her blouse to expose her bare chest, neatly rounded, firm breasts and beautifully shaped, evenly spaced spots running down her sides. Need I say more, or would you like to see the whole thing? You self centered, think you have the greatest body in the world, conceited BITCH! If Charles wanted you, don't you think he would have done it by now? Don't you get it Walker?, we are friends! Charles is a kind, patient, understanding man who just had his life destroyed by some one with your pushy attitude of, "How fast can I get him in the bed!" "He doesn't need or want that now and neither do I!!! All I wanted was his friendship and the opportunity to study the stars since I was 7 and on Trill, my parents didn't allow me that luxury you have HERE!!!", she screamed, tears streaming down her red face. Christine was not only hurt but so overwhelmingly furious, if she had a bat or anything in her hands, Walker would be on the deck, on her way to sickbay.
"Nice pair honey..." Walker said with a smile, then indicated her own chest. "But as you can see I have a full house so why don't you just put that pair away and bow out of this game while you still can. And as far as him wanting me, who do you think was in my bed last night?" She gave Zen a hard look, then continued. "And don't presume to lecture me about how hard he's had it because I know him better than you ever will. I know all about his marriage to that spotted bitch Laurana Zad. I know about his son and I know about what he went through in their divorce. You see, I served with both of them on the USS Phobos so there's nothing you can tell me about Charles Damian that I don't already know. I've waited over ten years for this opportunity and I'll be goddamned if I'm going to let you or anyone else fuck it up for me. You didn't know it, but I saw you hanging all over him in the Promenade Lounge back on the station. He's mine - not yours - and he never will be yours. Face the facts sweetheart - the cards have been dealt and played. The game is over and you lost. So my suggestion to you is to just tuck your tail between your legs and forget about Mister Damian.
"Slow your roll you over heated sex crazed bitch...I have over 300 years of failed relationships, fucked up marriages, walked over men and women and the children caught up in the middle. YOU can't tell or get a man to love you if he isn't ready regardless if your sex is out of this world or by telling him you are carrying his child. It don't work that way hun and hasn't for the past 250 decades. I know, so button up and shut up cause you don't know me!", she screamed!
"I've heard it said that once is an accident, twice is a coincidence - but three times or more is a habit," Karen said, her voice becoming even harder and colder than before. "So if you've had that many years of failed relationships, doesn't that show that the finger of responsibility is pointing squarely at you? I mean, what are the odds that every one of the failures was someone else's fault? Seems to me that when it's happened that many times you need to look at yourself."
"I guess you still haven't gotten it yet you stupid ignorant fool. I have had five previous hosts, but the same symbiont. Each host's life has taught me many things and I have learned that taking things at face value is not always the right thing. One does not achieve what they want by scheming and laying elaborate traps to get what they want. 90 percent of that always fail and does so in the most hurtful way. You go by what they feel and that is accomplished by being friends and sharing things in common. From there, if it be by the gods, the chances are it will work. But you stupid bitch, you can't take it from past experiences from past ships and the fact that your true desire was that you wanted him for yourself from the first time you laid eyes on him! You can't always get what you want all the damn time!!!" she yelled, as she made a fast move for Walker. Clearly Christine was more than mad!
"That's where you're wrong, you spotted slut!" Karen shouted back as she managed to sidestep Christine's charge. "I ALWAYS manage to get what 'I' want - one way or another. I wanted him for over ten years and I got him last night. And now that he's to be the new Chief Science Officer, I want to be the Assistant CSO - and I'll get that too."
When Charles entered the Astrometrics lab the first thing he heard - in fact, the ONLY thing he could hear - was the sound of two women screaming epithets and insults at each other. He walked around the bulkhead that separated the entrance alcove from the main lab just in time to hear Walker's statement about the Assistant CSO position. "I wouldn't be too sure about that assistant's position if I were you..." he said to Walker, then addressed the both of them.
"Now, would either of you like to tell me just what in the HELL is going on here? We could hear the two of you all the way down in the main lab!"
To be continued...
