Location: J'Loni's Quarters
Timeline: After the Battle Post
ON:
A weary J'Loni left the bridge and headed for engineering to see how her troops fared. She was exhausted but she had to check on them first before going home. Walking into engineering, she nearly tripped over a sprawling engineer who was busy working on an EPS line that had ruptured, stepping over him she went looning for Cor and found him with his head in a panel grumbling about fried relays, and smiled, looking for Thomas, he was busy working on some pannel dealing with the propulsion systems and Eric was looking onto the warp core containment conduits. Shaking her head, she looked for both Renee and Christine and found them busy with re-routing the primary communications systems to the secondaries and finally seeing William, she stumbled her way to him. "Looks like you and Cor got things under control here. How bad is it really William, the truth, and no funny business", she said.
William took a deep breath and let it out slowly, closed his eyes amd looked his wife in the face. "If we hadn't pulled the chips, relays, optical woring, and other damaged parts, it could have been ten times worse than it is. We need a complete overhaul of all the isolinear chips from propulsion to environmenyal, and from communications to warp and impulse drive. And that is just part of it. All yhe fried relays and optical wiring have to be replaced. If I didn't know better, we are looking at 6 weeks of lay over, but we don't have 6 weeks so we will get it done in two", he said grinning. Apparently all the uears of working with a miracle workervwas rubbing off after all. She laughed, " Now you're sounding like husband. Get them rested William, they did well, let them know, but let me collect Jenna and meet me home. I have to prepare. Smiling, she left for her office and a sleeping Jenna.
Once she was gone, William pulled everyone together and relayed what his wife had said and they yipped hoorayed, slapped each other on the shoulders and headed for home as the next shift came in and began to pick up where they left off. William came into the office and pickedup Jenna, who stirred, but daddy rocked her back to sleep as she made her report to the Commander.
"Computer open up link to Commander Bartlett. Lt. Cmdr. J'Loni Mo'Bri reporting. Commander are you there? Please excuse the late hour but my engineering report is due.", she said looking at the screene.
"Bartlett here. It's all right... this is my usual wakeup time anyway." Michelle said. "What have you got?"
"Well the news is Commander is this, my crews have basically patched into the secondaried to stabilize the ships systems. A jurry rig at best. It will het us to New Earth alright barring any surprises, which is why grand father is sticking close by. Second, if it hadn't been for all the dilligent work from the Musketeers, pulling relays, chips, and opitical wiring, and the other visual checks we did, the damage could have been ten times worse. They all deserve commendations for work and dedication for going way above the call of duty. Third, for the talks, my grand father doesn't trust the current Klingon delegates. To be honest, after this, neither do I. I suggest that Lt. Mok'Tor be present and stand behind the Klingon delegates. The Chancellor wants these talks to go forward and his wishes are to be made clear to the representatives. Commander I need your assurance that I will be allowed to speak on behalf of the Klingon Council." She said, looking at the Commander.
Michelle sat up from her bed. "It sounds like we've got the worst of the engineering stuff out of the way. Excellent work. As for the talks, I will require a signature from a member of the High Council acting on the Chancellor's behalf designating you as part of their team that I will forward to the Commodore and to Commander Honn. During those few hours, you will not be a Starfleet Officer but a representative of the Klingon Empire. Long story short, leave your pips and uniform at home." she said.
"That is not a problem. My grandfather can sign the necessary documents. He can fprward them to you or can come aboard and do it in person. Which ever is better. As for my pips, I already know about that", she said, as she waited an answer.
"Then permission granted." Michelle said. "I'll look forward to receiving the documents."
"You will have them within the hour, and thank you Commander", and she ended the comm. Then she commed her grand father. "IKS Vor'Kon this is Mo'Bri, I wish to speak with my grand father", she stated. "One moment Daughter of L'Keth", came the reply. Soon her grand father sat before her. "Grand father I need your official signature stating that I can speak on the behalf of the Chancellor. I do not trust the delagates he sent here to convey the true meaning of his message", she said. He thought for about a minute and then said, " I agree, and will have the necessary doccuments sent to Commander Bartlett, J'Loni. Speak with honor and speak the truth. I know you will represent the Klingon people with all your heart. Quap'la my daughter", he said and the comm went black.
