Location: Shuttlebay 1
Timeline: July 2nd, 2399 1100
ON:
The shuttlebay was nearly empty, the shuttle standing lone guard in the middle as the red armored priestess walked through the shuttlebay doors. She was a sight that would have fit in most Japanese samurai flicks, if they were crossed with an ancient Roman movie as well. It was a short sleeved breast piece made of leather from a carnivore native to Tial and dyed the red of freshly dried blood. Fringed leather extended from below the pauldron about two inches to give the bicep some coverage without sacrificing maneuverability. A similar, but nearly foot long pleating of skirting went to about six inches from her knees, giving the thigh the same protection. Metal bracers that covered the forearm and guards that covered her skins and the sides of her calves glinted of silver just as the circlet that covered forehead and temples, leaving her black hair flowing.
She had two swords sitting in an over-under sheath over her right hip, shorter on top, and a trio of daggers of differing lengths were on the left. Other blades of lengths between two and six inches were on the breast piece, thigh, calf, and goddess only knew where else. She was the vision of a warrior princess, eyes flashing around the shuttlebay in automatic threat assessment.
J'Loni, dressed in her full Klingon battle dress, entered the shuttle bay. She stopped and looked at the guard and growled softly, but not loud enough to be heard.
While her heart was still racing, Nyx's posture and face were relaxed and serene, just as before most of the battles she had fought in. This was normal. She noted J'Loni and walked over to her, giving her an appropriate bow, one tailored for one warrior to another, "My Lady, you definitely should garner some respect from my opponents." She said quietly, "Lady Captain Bartlett requested we wait for her before we depart."
J"Loni nodded, and waited for the Captain to arrive.
Michelle entered, a little uneasy at the thought of losing yet another senior officer in so many days. She hoped things would get better, not suddenly get worse. But this Tialan mess did need to be resolved. And if this Judgement was the way to do it, then so be it. It's not like there was much of a Marine Detachment left on board anyway.
"I don't know what the traditional expression of best wishes would be so I hope you'll accept my improvisation... Good luck. And give them hell."
Nyx smiled at her, showing more confidence than she felt, "My Lady, there really is no 'best wishes' for this sort of fight. The traditional sendoff is 'Honor and Steel.' There is a lot of tradition against me here, My Lady, but someone has to set an example?"
"Yes Nyx and who else better to set the example than you?", J'Loni said.
"Well then... Honour and Steel." Michelle said. "And that bit about giving them hell. I should have just sent you on board to deal with this when Tilas showed up in the first place."
"If you had sent me to her ship, My Lady, I would already be dead. At least now I stand a chance." Nyx brought a hand to her own chest, placing it open-handed, "May I see you soon, My Lady."
"Captain I will guard her with my life", J'Loni said, as she walked deliberately as would a Klingon Warrior should, proudly, up and into the shuttle.
"No, My Lady, she shan't." Nyx said softly to Michelle, "And that is the whole point. I would not deprive you of your Chief Engineer."
"Then, if I may say... Good luck. Come back in one piece."
"I will certainly try, My Lady." Nyx whispered before turning and pausing at the bottom of the ramp before walking up it to her future.
