Help I've Fall- Trip- Borked Something!

Posted on Tue Jan 9th, 2018 @ 7:32pm by Lieutenant JG Siobahn Fallon & Lieutenant Renee Salchin

Mission: https://wellington.pegasusfleet.site/index.php/sim/missions/id/4
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Current

"God-dammit all to hell, shit, shit, shit, shit this hurts!" Renee cussed her way down the hallway, cradling her arm to her chest as she walked towards the last turn before sickbay, "You see if I don't fix you." She barked at the corridor wall, the door to sickbay, then kicked it and yelped in pain, "You little bitch!" She yelled as she hopped on one heeled shoe, then bumped into the doorway and yelped again before finally finding both feet again, "I'll get you, my pretty, just wait and see."

Siobahn looked up with shock at the string of curses entering the door in the form of a tall, rather attractive blonde who was clearly in a lot of pain. "Oh Goodness!" she exclaimed, jumping up from the seat she had been sitting on and rushing over. "What on earth have you gone and done to yourself?" Siobahn questioned, leading Renee across to the closest biobed and getting her to sit before grabbing a medical tricorder and flipping it open.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you..." Renee said matter of factly, then went on, "I was putting an access panel back on when I dropped it. It started to roll away, so I went after it and it did a quick u-turn and ran into my legs, knocking me over and into the wall. I tried to catch myself but the angle was bad and..." She grimaced as she finally let the doctor see the arm. And the bone that stuck out of it, her uniform front smeared with blood. "And yes, it hurts." She finished.

Sucking in a sharp breath, Siobahn nodded. "I imagine it probably would hurt a whole lot. Just sit tight," she turned around and moved quickly to the bench behind her, grabbing a hypospray and loading it with a cartridge before returning to Renee. "I would tell you that this might sting a little, but I imagine you won't feel it all that much anyway," she said, holding the hypo to the side of her neck and pressing the button, releasing the medication. "I suggest you lay back," She said gently. "It might make you feel a bit woozy, but it'll help with the pain. I'm Siobahn," she finally said with a smile as she helped Renee lay back and set the hypo aside and grabbed the medical tricorder again.

Relief flooded through Renee's system and her face relaxed quite a bit, and she exhaled completely, "Thank you, really really thank you. I thought I was going to pass out a few times, but then everyone would have walked by me and said, 'Oh look at Renee, she's so lazy.'" She shook her head, "By the way, I'm Renee." She started to reach out with the broken arm for a handshake, then stopped as the sharp jab of pain reminded her why she was there.

"Steady up there," Siobahn said softly, taking her arm gently and moving it back to rest across her chest. "I suggest we keep the pleasantries for later. You've done a damn fine job of this," she said shaking her head. "You certainly don't do things by halves do you Renee? Nasty break in the radius and looks like at least one fracture through to the ulna. Because the radius has separated completely, I'm goin' to need to manipulate it back into place, and I'll be honest, it's goin' to hurt like a Bhitseach. Just sit tight a tiny sec, I'll see what I can do to help ease the pain."

Stepping away again, she grabbed the hypo, reloading it with another cartridge and slipping a second one into her pocket before turning back to Renee. "How are you feeling?" she asked gently.

"Not as bad as I did before." Renee admitted, "How long is this gonna keep me out? There's a helluva lot of work to be done on the ship, still, and the ship was the one that conspired to try to kill me. I just try to make her better from her own injuries and this is how she repays me. It isn't fair."

Siobahn resisted the urge to laugh. "Well, lets see how we go with this repair, ok? Then we can work that out later." She grabbed the hypospray and loaded the first cartridge. "This is a localised anaesthetic, it will help to numb the area." She pressed the hypospray against the arm and pressed the button. "Now, how good are you at handling pain?" she asked, holding Renee's arm either side of the break.

"Oh shit." Renee grimaced, "Not good?"

"I'll be as gentle as I can," Siobahn replied softly as she started to move the bone. "Just close your eyes and think about something else. Oh, hey, nice boots! They are definitely NOT federation issued!" She exclaimed, both truthfully and and trying to distract Renee from what she was doing. She moved the arm again, a little firmer this time. "Very stylish!"

"You have no idea!" Renee said brightly, "I actually had to bring several pairs with me, because my supplier is back on Earth and I don't know when I'm getting back there again. But these are just one style I have with me, there are a few more types I have with me too. But, don't get me started about the rest of the uniform. Who else but me wears a skirt that you've seen? And, well, since it's black and the stockings are black, not many people know it. But I can't STAND the tops, how can someone look pretty with the STANDARD uniform tops. I've got a really flattering tunic and jacket design in the replicators for one, god I hate replicated clothes, they just don't feel right."

"I know what you mean," Siobahn replied easily. "I'm goin' to have to get you to hook me up with your dealer next time we're near Earth, I NEED me a pair of those boots, but I have to admit..." she paused, pulling Renee's arm hard until she felt the bone click back into place. "It never occurred to me to alter the uniforms," she kept speaking. "And you're right about the replicated clothes, but hey, us lowly Ensign's don't get paid enough to shop properly, so we just make do with what we have." She smiled as she looked at Renee. "That's about the worst of it over, how are you going?"

Renee looked down towards her arm, "Well, um..." She wanted to poke it, but knew it wouldn't be a good idea, "It's not that bad?" She asked hopefully, then changed the subject again, back to the other subject, "But these aren't boots." A smile, "And I think I'm gonna owe you for this." She gestured with her non-broken arm, "What shoe size are you?"

"About a six," Siobahn replied as she reached for the Osteogenic stimulator, activating it and holding it over Renee's arm, moving it with incredibly slow precision over the broken bone.

The smile brightened, "Then you're coming home with me." Renee declared, using the toe of her left shoe to wiggle the strap of the right to loosen it to the point where it dangled from her stockinged toe, "Definitely not a boot and quite elegant, and you're going home with some!"

"Oh now they are even more gorgeous!" Siobahn exclaimed. "Are you sure? I mean, at least let me pay for a pair!" she continued moving the osteogenic stimulator across Renee's arm. "I have the most gorgeous little dress that would just kill with those heels! I picked it up on the station when we transferred over." She grinned as she looked at Renee and set the stimulator aside, reaching for a dermal regenerator instead, using it to carefully heal the open wound on her arm. "I can't believe you speak clothes!" Siobahn exclaimed again, "I was beginnin' to lose hope!"

"And now there's someone else on board who does, too!" Renee seemed to bounce in the bed without moving, "What are you doing now?" She asked quickly, "Because we could go now and you can try in shoes, see how you look in one of MY uniforms, I think you'll look great! And then, we can work on finding guys?" She asked askance.

"Hang on, settle down a moment," Siobahn laughed as she tried to finish repairing the wounds to Renee's arm. "Medical stuff first, okay? Then I'm done for the day. Now... first and foremost... you need to take it very easy, and I mean NO liftin' your arm at least for 48 hours, ok? I'll replicate a sling for you momentarily, but you need to keep your arm still and not take any chances or you are goin' to risk further injury. Secondly, you need at least four weeks of light duties. I have healed the bones as best I can, but they will be somewhat delicate for a while. You can't go racin' around Engineerin' like you're invincible, okay? Your bone needs time to heal properly. Please don't make me do all the paperwork to remove you from duty, because, really, I'd rather just come and look at your shoes!" Siobahn hesitated momentarily, uncertain as to whether she should keep speaking. Finally, taking a deep breath she decided to just speak out and own it. "But you should know, I don't need help findin' a guy... I'm pretty darn happy with the girl I have."

Tenee's eyebrows went up, "Excellent! And you look like we're about the same upper body, too... We'll get you into something really nice for her then!" She really brightened up at that, then got down to business, "I'll take the forty-eight hours, but a week of light duties, then work myself back up to full." She gave Siobahn a wary look, "I really can't be out for a month, too much to do, and I'll keep taking it easy as much as I can, I promise!"

“Two weeks of light duties and then work yourself back up, but you have to be extremely mindful of your arm! Final offer... shoes or medical paperwork?” Siobahn countered with a grin. This woman had character, and she definitely wasn’t afraid to use it!

A few seconds of considering whether she was bluffing and Renee finally nodded, "Deal, but only because you need some cute shoes that will technically be appropriate for work, it helps that you're a doc and you usually don't have to worry about dropping heavy things."

"Oh thank God," Siobahn breathed an audible sigh of relief that Renee had accepted the counter offer. "Give me a minute, I'll grab you that sling and do some quick paperwork and you'll be on your way," she said lightly, replicating the sling and handing it to Renee, helping her fit it. "Sorry, it's only replicated, but hey, sickbay isn't really all that up to the stylish fashion requirements of someone with your discernin' tastes," Siobahn grinned again.

"I'll fix thatx don't worry, this'll get me back to my quarters and untilbI make one a bit more... appropriate." Renee smiled, the painkillers were wonderful, "But, when do you see your girlfriend tonight? I assume you will, at least, right?"

Siobahn shrugged slightly. "Honestly, not entirely sure if I will... she's been real busy, promotion, duties, you said it yourself, there's just too much to do..." She paused momentarily. "But it's okay, I have a hot date with a text book and a video lecture to catch up on." Laughing at herself, Siobahn flicked her hair back over her shoulder and grabbed a PaDD, making some quick notes. "Alright, all I need is your thumb print here and you're good to go."

"We will be." Renee corrected as she committed her thumbprint to the PADD, 'Done and done. Now, ready?"

Setting the PADD aside to download to the computer, Siobahn helped Renee off the bio bed and smiled. "Absolutely, lead the way to the shoes!" she replied with a grin.

Renee hooked her good arm around the Ensign to guide her out the door, then relaxed it to the crook of the arm, "We are going to peruse my closets and stuff and you are going home with some stuff, I have this one dress, absolutely smoking, that you would look amazing in, I'm sure of it, absolutely sexy."

With a smile Siobahn allowed herself to be led out of sickbay and into the corridors.

=/\= Renee’s Quarters =/\=

Standing in Renee’s bedroom, Siobahn stared around in awe. “Oh... My... God...” she finally breathed softly. “Wow....”

Two full walls had been converted into closets, the longer walls of them, and hanging in every square inch of them were clothes, mostly dresses , but a good solid spot at the end held t-shirts and shorts and sweat pants, the like. And spanning the entire length of the bottom of each closet were shoes. Every color and style, everything a woman could possibly WANT. Renee beamed at the sight, "It's just a few things I've gathered from here and there. Feel free to pull things out, try things on, whatever you'd like to do!"

"Just... just a few... things?" Siobahn stammered, turning with wide eyes, not knowing where to even start. "My God, I am pretty sure I could fit my entire quarters into just one of these closets!" she said, turning toward Renee. "And shoes... so very many shoes..."

Renee trailed along the line until she found the place she was looking for, then looked up and down the Ensign briefly, then knelt down and used her good hand to fish a pair of shoes, definitely not Starfleet issue, but with understated ankle support, and definitely good looking, with an inch worth of heel that flared out slowly for heel support, "Try these on, especially since you're in uniform, but we might change that up a bit too." She handed them over, then dove into the clothing portion of her left side closet, working to find uniforms, coming out with a pleated skirt that went down to the knees, "Aaand this instead of the pants."

Pulling off her standard uniform boots and them removing her uniform pants, Siobahn set them aside neatly and reached for the skirt, putting it on first before adding the boots. She stood up, turning slightly. "What do you think?" she asked, looking back up at Renee, pulling her long red hair to one side and holding it. "The boots are incredibly comfortable, oh my..."

"Custom make, but the padding is a combination of a gel and Jhuff-fluff that takes away most of the pressure from the sides and soles while supporting the foot as a whole, and, as I promised, stylish." Renee reached out an straightening out the skirt, "And that, my dear, looks absolutely ravishing on you. If you want to make it look somewhat like uniform, you can do what I do," She swished her own skirt, "Black thigh-high stockings, keeps ya' nice and cool, but also looks nice and properly uniformed!"

Siobahn's eyes widened slightly as she swished the skirt around her thighs. "You certainly have an eye for it," she replied, "Something like this wound never have occurred to me." She laughed softly as she took a few steps in the boots. "You're in engineering, you crawl through the tubes wearing skirts?" Siobahn asked suddenly. "Aren't you ever worried about being, you know, over exposed?"

Renee shrugged, "It actually drapes nicely across the rump, really just enough length to let me get away with it. And, well, that's why we wear underwear? No sense in giving the guys a show just because they think they can get one." She pondered for a moment, "Once I can find someone good enough, I'm going to get you a pair of those shoes with medical blue highlights, nothing fancy, just in a couple places... And if it works out, I'll get the highlights in gold, too! Let's see, though... Do you see anything else you like?"

Turning back to the closets, Siobahn shook her head slightly. "I wouldn't even know where to begin, there's so much!" She sighed wistfully. "Where do you wear all this stuff? You have some of the most exquisite gowns I have ever seen! And the shoes... and Oh my... with clothing like this how is it that you aren't on hot dates every single night? You should have guys lined up through half the ship waiting to have you on their arms!"

"Well, I was in a relationship until the night of the party." Renee admitted, "But he proposed to me and I'm not ready for that, so we've broken up, but I really don't have the time to wear all of these. Which is why it is WONDERFUL I'm meeting you!" She rummaged a bit more, pulled out a crimson dress that had a sparkly sheen to it, shoulderless with smallish plunge in front that would show cleavage and which would also cling to the body. As she brought it over, the sheen seemed to shift with the flow of the garment, "Now... Let's try this on, why don't we?"

"Oh my, that is stunning!" Siobahn exclaimed. She looked across at Renee and grinned. "We should totally get all dolled up and go hit up the lounge, I'm sure we'll find someone to take your mind off... well.. you know..." She traced her fingers across the gown, admiring both the feel of the fabric and the way it seemed to shimmer under her touch.

Renee twitched her slinged-up arm, "Don't forget my broken wing, umm... Siobahn." She remembered after a few seconds of mentally searching, "But in two days, if my doctor gives me her approval, I think we can make it into a trip. In fact... I think that's karaoke night! What do you think about karaoke, I LOVE it!"

"I think I may need a few of those pretty blue drinks with the cherries," Siobahn replied with a laugh.

"And shoes!" Renee reminded the two of them, reaching down for a pair of crimson shoes with red gems placed in the junctions of the cross-hatched 'laces' of the top, the heels a stilleto of two inches, "These go perfectly with that."

Taking the dress and the shoes, Siobahn bit down on her bottom lip. "Alright, you've twisted my arm, I'll try it on." she grinned as she slipped the boots off and headed toward the bathroom.

A few minutes later she stepped back out of the bathroom, pausing just outside of the doorway, turning in the dress. In truth, it was the single most gorgeous dress she had ever had on, and the way it fit was like it just moulded itself to her body, accenting every curve, even making some of them look curvier. As she walked the dress seemed to just float around her legs. "Oh my goodness," she breathed softly, running her hands down her sided and over her hips. "Renee, this is amazin'..."

Renee walked over next to her, glancing at Siobahn's ears and smiled, then handed a pair of ruby earrings to Siobahn along with a necklace with four strands of gold to go just below the neck and with a reverse pyramid of rubies scattered along the strands, four on the top, three, two then one centered on the lowest strand, "And these go with that as well."

Shaking her head quickly, Siobahn held her hands up. "Renee, I couldn't.. honestly, I can't take any of your stuff, this is worth a fortune, honestly, I couldn't... as beautiful as it all is, it just wouldn't be right..."

Renee's smile was bright and cheerful and she quirked a finger, beckoning the shorter woman over to the dresser, where she opened the top two drawers, filled with jewelry, "To be honest, I don't wear all of this anyways and I need someone to share it with." Her eyes became like puppy-dog eyes, "And don't make it sound like you're robbing me, I'm kinda sorta rather quite well off.. And it gives me another reason to go shopping."

Siobahn sighed softly, running her hands down over her hips again. The dress was exquisite, that was for sure... and it made her feel... somehow different? "Alright, but you have to let me pay for them," she insisted. "Okay?"

"Nope." Renee was very firm on the matter, "If you'd rather, call that borrowing for a very long time if it makes you feel better, but no paying me for them. It really does make me happy to have SOMEONE to share this stuff with."

Something told her that she had no chance of getting out of this, Renee was clearly stubborn and was not going to take no for an answer. "Okay," she said softly. "I'll borrow..." Looking back to the mirror and studying her own reflection again, Siobahn couldn't help but smile, just a little. "I would love to see Hailey's face if she saw me dressed like this," she murmured softly.

"Why not go show her?" Renee asked, barely hearing the murmur, "I think she'll appreciate the look. Do you think she'd fit any of this stuff?"

"She's on duty, and then she's on the bridge tonight," Siobahn replied with a sad smile. "Somehow I don't think this is really appropriate attire for the bridge... but maybe another day..."

"Then we'll just have to make sure to surprise her on a day she's not on duty or has the watch on the bridge. Maybe I'll even volunteer to take the watch from her, I'm actually a qualified watch officer, despite some irregularities to my position and dignities right now." Renee liked this doctor, more than any other she'd met so far and well... She DID need friends.

Impulsively Siobahn spun around and hugged Renee. "It must have been fate that today of all days, you ended up in my sickbay," she said with a smile. "I think we are going to be very good friends indeed, and God knows, right now I could do with some new ones." She looked back at her own reflection once more before sighing softly. "I should probably change back into my uniform I suppose..."

"Only if you're going back to sickbay?" Renee asked, for some weird reason, "But if you are, wear the skirt, it'll feel VERY refreshing, I promise!"

She shook her head quickly. "No, I'm off shift now for today... but I would be afraid of tripping on my own feet and ruining this gorgeous dress if I tried to wear it walking back to my quarters."

"Fair enough." Renee smiled fondly, "And, you know, if you ever want to just hang out, I can always find time in my schedule, it's not that busy. And I should probably meet this Hailey of yours so she doesn't get jealous? The new Second Officer, right?"

Siobahn nodded, unable to help the silly smile that came with just the mention of 'her' Hailey. "It's still all very new, but..." she sighed wistfully. "It's also so very... I don't know... wonderful." A momentary look of alarm crossed Siobahn's face. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be talking about this, not with you having just.. I'm sorry, I didn't think!" She retrieved her uniform and started removing the dress, very carefully, terrified she was doing to damage it. Once the dress was draped carefully on the end of the bed, Siobahn pulled on her uniform top and decided to go with the skirt, as Renee had suggested.

"Don't worry about it!" Renee made a throwing away gesture, "Seeing other people happy actually helps me. And I think Hailey needs to know who her girl's hanging out with! I'll bring a present, even, but I'll have to figure it out."

"How about tomorrow after shift?" Siobahn said easily, sitting on the edge of the bed to pull the boots onto her feet. "We can meet up in the lounge?"

"Sounds good to me." Renee smiled, "Casual, dressy or uniformy?"

"I'd say casual," Siobahn replied with a smile. "Or uniformy, either which way."

"I can do both at once!" Renee giggled, "And I really look forward to meeting Hailey. I think we'll get along, she and I, and this gives me a whole day to think of something for her.. Any suggestions?"

Siobahn laughed. "She likes guns," she said with a smile. "She's a marine... I... I really don't know..." She paused for a moment and looked across at Renee. "I am really looking forward to it." Carefully she folded up the few items she was taking back to her quarters and gathered them up in her arms. "Thank you, Renee," she said softly. "For everything."
