ON:

Looking around the room at the guys, she smiled. It was good to see them all in one place again, smiling and laughing like the old times. "Ok fella's lets get one thing understood, this isn't the Pathfinder and things here are a bit different so lets not screw this transition up" she said, looking at each one and nodded.

"Sure boss. Wouldn't want the new CO to like freak out you know", said Eric, looking around the table at his buddies smiling coyly.

"Nah boss lady wouldn't dream of it! You know?" said Thomas, looking like a guilty school boy.

"Lassie, ya needn worry about me. I'm as good as gold when it comes down to first meetings and ya know it", said Charlie.

"Woman what on earth are you talking about? You know that we wouldn't mess up the first meeting with the new CO. Now maybe the second or third yes, but not the first. Never!", chimed in William.

"No J'Loni, we wouldn't do that to you. Not now after all you did to get us here", said Joseph.

"Ok well then it is time to comm the captain and meet with him. =/\= Lt. Cmdr. Mo'Bri to Captain, sir permission to meet with you? I have already met with my musketeers...er departmental heads and need to introduce ourselves officially=/\= Closing the comm she looked at the guys and waited for the answer.

"Ross here." the CO replied. "I'd be happy to meet with you and... uhh... the musketeers." he said, a bit surprised but he recalled the transfer order and the request to move that team. The Admiral was not happy he accepted to transfer an entire group en masse, but the Commander must have had her reasons to request special consideration. "My ready room, or the Engineering area?"

"Since we are already in my office...come on down and join us sir. I'll have the coffee hot and...well let's just say something else to ease the pain", she said smiling, and closed the com. "Ok you nuts behave yourselves! No funny business now", she said looking around the room, looking for the slightest inkling of some funny business from them. It was not normal for an entire department to be transferred at the same time to a new ship, and on such short notice, but this was a crack team that worked well together and under fire. They would do her proud on the Wellington or she would have their heads on silver platters .

"I was down the hall anyway dealing with something. I'll make my way there." Ross replied as he turned into Engineering. He nodded at the staff, who were surprised to see the CO in their area. It was usually either a total rarity, or something was severely wrong. A Bajoran Lieutenant Commander approached him. "I wasn't aware you were coming, sir. Is everything all right?" she asked.

"Just fine, Commander. I'm meeting your new transfers." Ross replied.

"Of course. They're in the office, sir." The woman said, as Ross nodded to her in thanks.

"Commander Mo'Bri, I assume?" he asked.

Sensing the new presence she looked up, "Ah...welcome to the nest and get yourself a hot cup of coffee and I also habe some very good 14 year old bottle of Scotch if you get my drift. Then have a seat and we can get introduced. Down here, we are what you might call in formal, as we know each other for years and call each other by our first names", she said motioning towards the coffee and the Scotch.

"My general rule has always been to let the engineers be as informal as they want. Never mess with the people who fix your stuff or make your food." Ross said. "I think I might just try some of this scotch... So, how long have you all known each other?"

She was about to say something when Eric beat her to the punch. “The boss here, pulled us together on the Pathfinder from a raged bunch of boys to a well oiled and trained team of guys. We all love her and trust our lives with her. She has done miracles in engineering with things that we thought weren't possible. I remember...”, Eric was saying when he got cut off by Thomas.

“She saved our hides more than I can remember and in doing that she saved the ship in the process. She is truly a miracle worker. She does things that are, according to the Engineering Core, totally impossible to do and surprisingly they work!”, Thomas chimed in.

“Captain, I trust my life and that of my family when it comes down to the boss. She goes out of her way to help us and if possible she will put her life on the line to save ship and crew. She is one of the best engineers I have had the pleasure to serve with”, Joseph said smiling at the captain.

Charlie stood up, “Sir as you are aware, Starfleet doesn't usually transfer an entire department enmase but in this case, what ever strings she pulled it was done for our best interests. To say the least of this feat she also has given you an entire engineering staff that is already seasoned and trained and that can work under extreme conditions and work effectively as a team. We all have each others backs and we know that the boss has our backs as well”, he said and sat down again.

William looked around the room and figured, oh what the hell, here goes’, “Sir it is with all due respect that I can say I have not only known these guys for 7 years but I know my wife even longer. My wife, took me as a raw cadet and dragged me half way around the galaxy with her as her engineering officer. When she left she took me and so for 14 years, between her and the last 7 with the guys we have really become a force in engineering to reckon with. She is truly what they call a miracle worker of engineering”, he said. Quite satisfied with himself, he sat next to his wife and kissed her.

Ross nodded and grinned a little. "That's impressive. The only concerns I've heard was from your previous Captain who felt that your departure would be a great loss. But... I'll try not to get us in any tight scrapes off the bat. I promise." he said. "I hope you've all got your quarters arranged."

“Well now since all of you have spoken I guess it is my turn but I will be damned if I am going to get up and parade up and like down like a dress parade on the academy grounds!!! To that end captain, I want to just say this, this is a team of people that work together and help each other on and off duty. They are a dedicated bunch and will go out of their way to protect this ship and her crew. As for us, all we need is to know what you expect of us and you will have it”, she said smiling and nodding to each of her departmental heads. Now she had finished what she had to say and relaxed and waited to see what the captain had to say.

Ross pondered a moment. They all seemed genuine. And committed. He was certain they would make a welcome addition. "Keep the ship running, look out for the crew, and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Though I don't think that'll be a problem" he added with a grin. "Most people don't choose Engineering to sit around and slack."

"Well sir, believe me we don't just sit around. But as to yoir question of quarters, we did have a small discussion with your Chief Operations Officer. After a few minutes, he did see my point as to how close to the structural and env0iromental controls I wanted to have Joseph near to. As for the rest...I keep them close to me, now that my qurters are also on deck 3", she said smiling.

Ross nodded. "I'm sure Lieutenant Martin appreciated the input. If there's anything at all I can do for you, please let us know."

The Bajoran Lieutenant Commander came into the office.. "Including a counselor for dealing with the trauma of putting up with Commander Bowman." Meru said. Ross turned around and looked at her.

"Commander, she's still the First Officer. I would encourage you--"

"I know, sir. But when someone comes down here at 0700 hours before I've had the chance to start my shift and complains that the engine efficiency was off by a tenth of a percent and we should be monitoring it like a hawk, it really exhausts my patience." Meru replied.

"I'll discuss it with her." Ross replied. "Apologies, Ms. Mo'Bri. Again, as I was saying... Anything at all we can provide, I'll do what I can."

"Um...check again and I think that Thomas corrected that about...what... 0715", looking at Thomas.

"Yes Chief, found the small problem when it came up in the morning diagnostics. It was nothing major and it was corrected", Thomas said looking at both of them.

"There now, see Commander, it has already been corrected", J'Loni said, knowing she was going to hear it none the less.

Meru reviewed the efficiency... "Damn. You guys are good. Captain, you're not allowed to ever transfer them off." she said with a smirk.

J'Loni looked at the captain and the commander and smiled. This was going to be a great ship to be on as she was definitely smaller and compact but as a fighting ship...there were only two she could think of for the Wellington to join and that was the Claymore, the Akira class she was on and lastly, the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder wwas for all intense and purposes, basically a flying aircraft carrier. So in comparison, the Wellington could be better at speed and maneuverability than either of the two afore mentioned ships. All in all it was good to have her engineering crew here on the Wellington.

"Well guys, I KNOW you all have something to do so get the hell out of here!", she barked.

William jumped up, looking at the guys, who also stood quickly, "Yes boss we are gone!", he said, pulling Eric by the collar out the door with him.
