Preparing for Chaos

An hour after leaving the bridge, Shaille had secured deck 9 for the crew from the Icarus to come aboard. While she could only provide access to around eight sets of living quarters, keeping the crew isolated to Deck 9 also gave them direct access to transporter rooms as well as use of holodecks, recreational areas and the aft lounge. While the limited living quarters was far from ideal, especially given that she had no idea how many of their crew members would be coming over, over all this was the best option as far as she was concerned. Her primary focus was still the safety and well being of the Wellington crew.

"Lieutenant Levine?"

The voice startled her from her thoughts and she spun on her heel, finding herself face to face with Corinne.

Corinne gave a quick smile. "Sorry Lieutenant, didn't mean to startle you. We've finished our final sweep of the deck, the only crew left down here is a repair crew from engineering and a couple of doctors from medical setting up for minor triage and treatment in the aft lounge, so the Icarus can start transporting their crew over when ever they want. Security is stationed at each turbolift to stop anyone going in or out."

"Excellent, I will let Captain Bartlett know momentarily. I want two security officers on the turbolifts at all times, I don't care what anyone else says. No one enters or leaves this deck without my express permission. Put a couple of officers in the aft lounge as well, just as a precaution. See if we can get an ETA on how long the repair crew is going to need, ideally I want them off the deck as well before anyone comes across." Shaille issued the orders, all the while staring fixedly at the PADD in her hand.

"Yes Lieutenant." Corinne nodded in confirmation. "I'll go see the engineering team myself and see if I can hurry them up a bit."

The younger officer had barely started to walk away when Shaille called her back again. "Actually, Lieutenant Wiseman, on second thoughts get in touch with Major Weston and see if we can get a couple of Marines up here. Split each Security detail so we have one Security Officer and one Marine."

This time allowing Corinne to actually leave, Shaille cast a glance around her once more before turning on her heel and walking toward the turbolift, heading back to her office. She had no doubt at all that Corinne and Jacob would be able to make sure everything on deck 9 ran smoothly, and she had a hot date with a strong coffee and a whole lot of sensor data that needed to be gone over with a fine tooth comb.
