Location: Quarters
Timeline: Right After Departmental Pow Wow
ON:
After the meeting, she had a few minutes to sort out what was said and how she would act upon the information given by her gang. She was happy to include Salchin, Cordale, and Christine as new members of the Musketeers from engineering. She was imensely pleased with their results. She was also impressed by Salchin's dilligence and perseverance in finding the tie ins to the Klingon's. She would try and get Salchin to take the officers exam again as she felt that Renee would pass it and get her pip.
Now came the task of finding out exactly what was going on Qo'noS and what was being done. It was imperative for her to find this out based on finding Klingon technology and comm signals. How Cardassia figured into it, she would find out about that as well. If it was a house siding with the Cardiassians, the Chancellor would know about it by now, or should at least.
"Computer open secure channel to Qo'noS, to the House L' Keth", she said.
"Secured channel open to House L'Keth...", came the response.
On the screen appeared her grandfather, Kar'Belek, looking bit surprised by all this. An older man about 95 or so but not looking his age, "My daughter, to what do I owe the honor?", he said.
"Grandfather, I suspect so much has happened since we spoke last," she said. She had some idea but not all the facts so she let him tell her first and she would fill in the blanks as they spoke.
"Yes my child, a lot has happened but, first I must tell you this...", he said, hesitating before he continued. "Another attempt has been made against our House", he said sadly. "This time by the House K'Targh!", he said angrily. "They are loyal supporters to the House Mo'Guev, who are loyal to the houses of Kil'Breckt and Gi'Lech. All three are loyal to the Cause Movement here on the home world, a cause that has pledged to over throw Chancellor Mar'tok and destroy your peace initiative dealing with the return of this pa'tagh of a Klingon captain who has been captured", he said.
Now things were becoming clearer in her mind. So there is an alliance of Houses on the home world bent on destroying the Klingon Federation Alliance. With the move against her house yet again, the news that these three houses being in league with each other gave her reason to suspect further involvement by an out side alliance. "Grandfather, do you know who is this outside party giving aid to them? We have reason to believe that the Cardassians are some how involved in this", she said.
"The Chancellor has his suspicions that it could be indeed the Cardsssians. They would be in a position to gain territory in the Delta Quadrant and by giving the Klingons acess to new worlds is very interesting and worth inviting to say the least. Why?", he asked.
"Can you possibly find out who? It might mean the difference between an all out war again with the Klingons and Cardassians and the Federation, not to mention the Dalacari and possibly other Delta Quadrant species. We believe we have a saboteur on board and is targeting several of our systems. They have already taken the lives of half our command crew and in all probiblitaly, the diplomatic people will be summarily be eliminated making it bad for the Federation", she said almost pleading for help. "Has the challenge on our House been met?", she added.
Kar'Belek answered very solemnly, "Yes it has and not without blood shed. But, it was sucessfully prevented by aid from our three allied Houses, L'Kugh, Mordin, and Kilrah", he said. "J'Loni, you must be very careful, your life and that of your family there are in danger there. They know where you are! Please my daughter watch your life and that of your family and friends as they are all targets. I must go, the Chancellor has called an emergency session. Quap' la", he said, and the screen went black. She sat there letting all of what was said in and then made her next move. "Computer, execute command protocol Alpha 0957 Pi, engage all system shut outs. Only Commander Alennis and all Musketeer codes are to be accepted only. Outside requests are to be denied and notified to Commander Bartlett immediately upon her arrival on the ship", she said. Now she had to let those individuals in on her sudden actions and why. It was a dagerous move, but it was a neseccary one at this juncture in time, and time was now, no longer on their side. Not wasting a second breath, "Mo'Bri to Commander Alennis, I need to speak with you privately in my quarters in fifteen minutes. Do not reply...just be there, Mo'Bri out", and shut the comm. Leaving her office, she deliberately went past William, ~~Stay here. In my computer you will find the command codes for the Musketeers. Distribute them quietly. I will explain it to them when I come back.~~, she projected to him and disappeared.
William didn't waste any time and did as he was told to do quickly and quietly.
